Thanks for reading this and giving any help you can. I have tried with the AI tool and well not a fan of it yet. I want to leave the PS5 behind and build a 4k gaming monster for my 40th b-day that just passed. I have a budget of $6k and I do need a monitor as well but if I have to wait on that I will. I want to be able to run even black myth wukong at 75+ FPS on 4k and every other game I can. my only issue is I know nothing about all these motherboards and graphics cards I do understand ram LOLOL but that’s about it. Guess what I am asking is for a list I can just add the parts to my cart buy and when they show up build after I watch 5000 YouTube videos and read the manuals that come in the boxes.
The case is a place holder and is subjective to your taste and budget. just make sure the gpu will fit whatever you pick. A 5090 would put you over budget in the current market. The 5080 is not cost effective for what you get over the 5070ti (it should have 20-24 gigs of ram🫤) but IS arguably faster and you have the budget, so go for it. This build is way under your budget but you could dress it up with a fancier case/ cooler /gpu but the basic component list is solid.
If you can find a 5090 and stay within budget then swap out the 5080 for that. honestly the 5090 is overkill for gaming though.
Just some food for thought… you may want to consider a prebuilt with this large of an investment so you have some kind of warranty and access to customer support.
Unless you are wanting the building experience. You might wanna try something like these
I will jump into the discussion and add. You have a great budget. You could do a prebuilt or even have a company make you a custom built and get the warranty et cetera.
I prefer building my own because you have more options. Even with a custom built they might only offer so many options.
I would definately add a hard drive into the mix. With your investment id get a toshiba enterprise. They are made for constant use with higher quality parts so you can expect a longer life out of an enterprise hard drive. You could get an 18 terabyte for your mass storage. With 1tb ssd you will quickly be begging for more space.
I always install my operating aystem on an ssd in the primary storage slot for fastest access as they are typically direct connection to the cpu.
And then i use a large hsrd drive for storage of games.
You can get a second ssd with more storage on it if you have a favorite game or two and store them on it for faster load times.
Also with your budget dont fall into the double gpu trap. That was very popular and useful in the past but now you are much better off just getting a single very strong gpu.
I would start my build by choosing one item and building out from it based on compatibility. Either choose a desired cpu or motherboard or even gpu and see what will work well with that part from there.
Also dont cheap out on your PSU. It powers everything. Sp if you spend 2k on a gpu and buy a 100$ psu you already know ehat the point of failure will be.
And this is probably just me, but im still not sold on liquid cooling. A high quality air cooler with a modern cpu should be plenty of heat dispersion, especially if your pc case has good air flow.
Hello This is my first time building a gaming computer. Anyone have recommendations with a 3k budget. I have a gaming laptop and a work laptop. That can run everything pretty smoothly but Im looking to build a desktop where I can change parts as needed with no liquid cooling.
