Hi there, I’m new to PC and the community and I was wondering how people get their Windows operating system for “free”. A friend of mines said that if you have a Windows laptop or another computer with Windows you can get it. If anyone could explain the process to me so when I build mines soon I can do it? For basically free, since you already bought the license on the old hardware, see if you can link the license to an email and then use that email on a new system.
you can go on Microsoft website and download it for free. You can even use the unregistered version. The only consequences will be there’ll be a “watermark” in the lower corner saying it’s unregistered, the inability to customize the desktop and a constant reminder that you need to register. If you want to copy your windows already, you can punch in your registration key when I asked you to. Or you can just keep using an unregistered copy it will do security updates no matter what.
