PC Part Picker: My first custom waterloop build by saurabh1312 - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, GeForce RTX 5080, SSUPD Xhuttle ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker

Built my first custom waterloop PC (rigid tubes)! Took me a while to finish. Getting those tubes to fit right was tricky, lol.

Chose this case because it will sit to the left of my monitor, but also because I prefer small-ish cases (this is fairly small for an ATX case). Still managed to fit a fair bit of components in this 50L case.

I managed to repurpose a GPU support bracket that props up the GPU waterblock (heavier than it looks) from the bottom. I wasn’t impressed with Alphacool waterblock’s design in terms of structural support from the top (didn’t find any real issues, but wanted to be safe for the long term).

The top and bottom fans are intakes (added dust filters on the top) and the exhaust is through the radiator in the rear. The Corsair radiator is of double thickness. The Jonsbo fans on the exhaust can get excellent 3.2 mmH2O of static pressure to push air through the thick radiator (can feel the air at the back).

Controlling the fan speeds based on the coolant temperature (T-sensor). The coolant goes from the reservoir → GPU → CPU → radiator → reservoir. Using DP Ultra Clear coolant.

Used Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet on the CPU to avoid reapplying thermal paste after 1-2 years. Used Thermal Grizzly Phasesheet on the GPU waterblock (electrically non conductive unlike the Kryosheet), which should still last twice as long as any thermal paste.

I didn’t bend the hard tubes myself - bought a pre-bent set of 6 tubes and just cut them to the right length.

The MSI Vanguard 5080 GPU stays super cool at 52-54C at 100% load with the waterblock. The CPU’s 100% load temperature isn’t bad (72C), but it’s idle temperature is somewhat high (53C). It is a 170W CPU though (as opposed to 9800X3D’s 120W TDP). Also, I figure the idle temp of 53C isn’t hurting anything, so I don’t ramp up my fan speeds too eagerly. During gaming, the CPU is at 65C.

That is amazing good stuff. I kinda want to try that now, it looks like the future.
