Featuring characters from League of Legends, 2XKO is Riot Games’ first fighting game that is set for release later this year. Like League, 2XKO is free-to-play; however, in a departure from its main series, this will come to consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X).
As a 2D 2v2 tag fighter, 2XKO already stands out from other fighters such as Tekken Tag Tournament (which focuses on 1v1 tag fighting). Although still slated for release later this year, the game was available to try at EVO 2024 (THE premiere fighting game tournament) and even had an Alpha Lab playtest. With mixed feedback regarding how it is not beginner friendly and has overly long combos, the developer is taking their time to fine tune the game before it releases sometime this year (with a specific date to be determined).
Until then, there is an official YouTube channel featuring gameplay footage which can be viewed here. Do you think this will be a contender against other fighters such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter? Let us know!
