Pros: Works like a charm in my MSI K9A2 Platinum. Will be getting some more soon. Great price for this memory.
Cons: Uh...have to get back on that one...
Overall Review: Nice packaging and the stick looks good too.
Pros: Did not kill any other components inside computer.
Cons: Arrived Defective. Windows kept on BSODing on boot. Ran MemTest86 and it located 2 different locations with memory defects. My motherboard refused to run it at DDR2 800, underclocking it to 633.
Overall Review: 2 years ago, I took a chance you GeIL and bought some decent memory for my laptop from them. Had no problems and was very grateful about the prices. This experience has made me reconsider this brand and now I am thinking about going exclusive with brands that have a longer track record (Crucial/Mushkin/Kingston/etc.) YMMY.
For Newegg - great customer support in helping me RMA this for a refund!
Pros: When it works it's great. Bios read SPD perfectly, and it's 2G cheap.
Cons: 1st one DOA; replacement died in under 3 weeks.
Pros: Installed easy, and BIOS detected settings properly. I love the packaging. Easy to open. For a while, I had a Geil dual channeled with a Kingston HyperX just fine. But now, it's Geil Geil Kingston Kingston.
Cons: That I didn't originally buy 4 sticks at once
Overall Review: For $3 more, I get a heat spreader vs the cheaper of the quality RAM. I think it's worth it.
Pros: great ram ddr2 800 heatsink is of high quality and wraps around the ram
Pros: Bought two sticks and had no problems installing and running at stock settings.
It performs quite well with a little bump in voltage. At 1.95v, I can take my sticks up to 940mts. Running them at 960 requires 2.05v, and that's as fast as mine can go.
I currently have my sticks running stably at 800mts, 1.95v with timings of 5-4-3-11-14 2T
Cons: At 800mts I could not lower the CAS latency below 5, even at a voltage of 2.05. Doesn't seem to be a problem in consideration that it's the only timing that can't be lowered.
The heatspreaders are nice, but unfortunately on both of my sticks, the thermal pad that connects the memory chips to the heatspreader is not long enough. The chips at the ends of the modules are not completely covered by thermal tape. It's not a problem at low voltages, and the ram doesn't perform much better with higher voltages anyways, so it's not a big deal.
Overall Review: Really can't ask for cheaper prices on DDR2, the manufacturers barely make money on this stuff nowadays.
Pros: its GEIL, gr8 price, works like a champ
Cons: i want another stick
Pros: Great memory for the price. Upgraded my Dell Optiplex from 2GB to 3GB with this stick. Would recommend!
Cons: No Cons!
