Before making your purchase, find out what type of speakers you will be replacing. Pay close attention to the RMS power handling of the speakers you are purchasing. This is the continuous power that a speaker can handle without distorting. Your head unit will have to have the proper number of speaker outputs compared to how many speakers you plan to hook up to it, as well as sufficient power from the built-in amplifier. Sometimes though, a separate or external amplifier will have to be employed so that your speakers get the adequate power they need for optimal performance.

Pressed Paper Cone
Pressed paper is more rigid and able to handle the high power and functionality. You don’t want the cone of a subwoofer to have a flexible structure to it. The stiffer the cone is, the better sound quality you will receive.
Foam Surround
Foam is a great material for surrounds in speakers and subwoofers. It is in general more flexible than rubber, providing a slightly higher efficiency. This also translates to better excursion. (How far the cone of a speaker linearly travels from its resting position). It generally lasts anywhere from 8 to 15 years under the right conditions of usage
Piezoelectric Tweeter
Piezoelectric tweeters are resistant to overloads that would normally destroy most high frequency drivers and they can be used without a crossover due to their electrical properties. The active element is basically a piece of polarized material (i.e. some parts of the molecule are positively charged, while other parts of the molecule are negatively charged)
Mylar Midrange
A Mylar midrange generally has more ability for a wider variance of sound modifications and channel handling. Mylar has a higher rate of durability, as the cone is made of a plastic poly material, which does not rip or tare easily, under abnormal frequency changes
