Getting The Best Results
- Sit up straight with both feet flat on the floor
- Breathe normally and avoid talking
- Keep the arm with cuff at heart level
- Position the cuff correctly
- Left Arm - Palm should face upward, with air tube aligned with middle finger of the left arm
- Right Arm - Palm should face upward, with the air tube positioned under the elbow

Measure The Cuff
Two of the most common causes of getting inaccurate readings are related to the upper arm cuff:
- Using a cuff that's too small or too big
- Incorrect placement of the cuff
Our regular sized cuff is ideal for upper arms with a circumference of 9 to 12.5 inches or 22 to 32 centimeters.
Its edges must be aligned and placed one inch above the elbow fold.
Take the time to measure your upper arm cuff and get the correct placement ensure accurate results!

Precautions
Avoid the following activities or conditions, or wait the appropriate amount of time before taking a measurement:
- Use of nicotine, alcohol, or caffeine within 30 minutes prior
- Exercise or other strenuous activities
- Taking an earlier reading
- Taking a reading with a full bladder
