Exactly how many owners here have ran in to the L-Button Double-click defect?

Or any other defect for that matter? I know I'm not the only one - and mine began about 3 months in.... Disturbing.

I swear, before my problems? I was ready to christen the Gila, the best gaming mouse out there. I give products I like, once RMA - after that? Then I would have legitimate questions on durability - I'm just curious to know just how widespread these "issues" really are... And whether Genius is doing enough to fix it.

This is an issue across many mice, just do a search for any mouse manufacturer's name plus double click and you'll see. I think it's from the occasionally imperfect Omron switch, most performance mice use Omrons. Seems like the most common issue is when the button is released, the switch internals manage to glitch in such a way that it registers another click instead of the release. I know for a fact a double click issue has been addressed in firmware for at least one mouse, the Razer Copperhead. I can't promise anything from Genius but it stands to reason that since this mouse does have an upgradeable firmware it may be possible that Genius could apply a fix, assuming they can get enough samples to test to determine what exactly the problems are and if they are all identical.

Just for the record I did experience this with one of my original Copperheads, though I have not yet seen it with my Gila.

Mouse pad recommendation?

I am using a glossy surface counter top with dark green and light cloud mixed in background and it works fine.  I would not recommend solid white.  A mouse pad may be better but I don't like the restriction of size of the pad.

What is the tracking method on this mouse?

the tacking works great its very smooth its fits my med. to lg. hand very well i like it very well,  have had no problems with it price was right . when i both it .
