Would this work with my pcie 3 motherboard?

from what I read yes but why. all the performance is lost. This setup is blazing and with pci 4 video card and zen2 amd setup , the package is nice, best price for the PCI express 4 drives i could find

Is the heatsink removable?

I honestly couldn’t say for sure. It has 6 Phillips head screws on the sides that may indicate its ability to be removed. Mine is currently installed or I would attempt removal and respond more accurately.

I have an AORUS B360 Gaming 3 WiFi motherboard, of which the Gigabyte website says it has Dual Ultra-Fast M.2 w/ PCIe Gen 3 sockets. Since this SSD is Gen 4, is it safe to assume that this SSD will support the Gen 3 standard as well?

Yes, the SSD will step down to Generation 3 speeds. However, based on the premium price that you pay for a Generation 4 drive your money will be better spent on a generation 3 SSD drive.
