Pros: Overclocking AM3 on a budget. Good power circuitry, 140W processor capable, DDR3 1600 out of the box. Excellent price.

Cons: No mosfet cooler next to the CPU socket. The Enzotech M-81 fits perfectly. No other cons whatsoever

Overall Review: This is a great board. Takes my X3 720 to 4ghz and not a single setback from the motherboard. In response to the post above.. get a clue. You don't need the 790FX board unless you want to run more than one video card. This board offers everything that the 790 does and runs cooler. Overclocks great. Recommended for those on a budget. The 710 SB does RAID and does it well.

Pros: well made board , best board in its class, everybit as fast as the 790x and the 790fx boards if you dont need crossfire then this is your board the SB710 SB is every bit as good as the sb750 supporting raid, achi, and ACC .ddr3 support for more future proof life booted up my 720 BE out of the box

Cons: north bridge HS gets a lillte warm but should be good if running stock speeds if not get a thermaltake NB cooler that new egg sells http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835116018 it does fit but might interfear with very large CPU HS

Pros: The AMD 770 chipset is essentially the little brother of the 790x/790fx chipsets, so it has nearly all the same features and performance of those chipsets. I bought this to replace an older, ailing nforce 4 SLI board (also a Gigabyte). I have to say, that if I only had the experience from that board to go on, I would have bought a different brand. I'm glad I decided to give Gigabyte another chance, because this is a phenomenal motherboard. The construction seems very high quality, and it has all the features I could want. I'm glad they ditched all the old legacy connectors on the back panel in favor of a ton of USB connectors (i/o headers are on the board, though) and firewire. The relatively clean and well labeled layout made setup a breeze. I paired it with memory recommended from Gigabytes website, so it booted without a hitch. It's about two inches narrower than my old board, so it will fit easily into many cases. You won't find a better board for the price.

Cons: The layout, while decent, is not perfect. I can't really fault Gigabyte for this, as most boards seem to be set up in a similar fashion. The biggest complaint I have is the proximity of the PCIEx16 to one of the PCIEx1 slots. If you use a graphics card at all -- even a low profile card -- I can't see how you'd fit anything into the PCIEx1 slot without blocking the cooling of the graphics card. Since this chipset does not have an option for onboard graphics, you clearly have to use an add-in card. It's not a huge deal, since there are three more x1 slots and two regular PCI slots, but in that case, why even bother having it? I don't really care for the location of the floppy header (yes, I still have a floppy drive) or the IDE header (no, I don't have SATA optical drives), so I have to stretch those drive ribbons pretty far to reach. Seems Gigabyte could have made the board a little bigger, or removed an x1 slot to improve the layout, but not a big deal.

Overall Review: With only one PCIEx16 slot, obviously you won't be running Crossfire/Crossfire X, but be aware that you also *cannot* use a dual-gpu card (i.e. Radeon 4870 X2) in this board, since the AMD 770 chipset doesn't support AMD's "GPU-Plex" feature. So you're limited to single GPU graphics cards only. Not a deal breaker in my mind, not for the price, but it does limit upgrade options a bit. Also, this board is essentially the same as the DDR2 having GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 AM2+/AM2 mobo, but with DDR3 instead. So if you're planning on purchasing an AM3 CPU, you might as well get this and have DDR3 (since the price on those have dropped). Paired this with an AMD Phenom II X3 710, 4 GB G. Skill F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK memory (recommended in the board's memory support list), and an HIS Radeon 4850 GPU. Love my new rig!

Pros: Great board. No trouble installing. F2C BIOS unlocks Cores! No need for ATI crossfire? Then this one is perfect! Read up on the "AMD 700 chipset series" on a famous Wiki... site to know that you are not missing much with this Chipset (NB and SB) CORES UNLOCKED! I was thinking I had to downgrade to old bios (actually I forgot to even check what mine shipped with) So I tried first bios realese, no-go. Then tried latest bios "F2C." YES! New option in ACC - "Hybrid" To unlock you must go into Advanced Clock Calibration and Set to "Hybrid" Mode AND "Auto". Will prompt for firmware update and reboot. Woohoo!, 4 cores on Phenom II X2 550. SATA connectors face UP, which I like better than forward.

Cons: Took me a lot of reaseach to figure out how to use ACC to unlock cores. :) No RAID 5 or ATI Crossfire. A good thing for me!

Overall Review: The 770 Northbridge basically Lacks ATI Crossfire support, which I didn't want anyway. The 710 Southbridge lacks RAID 5 support (I only use RAID 1 since my computer is important.) So, why pay more for un-needed "features".

Pros: Bought this board for the explicit reason of unlocking the Callisto 550 BE to a quad core... it works. FYI, DO NOT use the windows bios flashing, use Q-Flash. Total setup cost $170 which is how much Newegg is now selling a combo for now (wish I had waited) but still love this deal. Board came with F1 bios but download the F2 bios from Gigabyte's website and you are good. USE Q-FLASH, trust me.

Cons: I had to do a lot of reading to make sure this board would unlock the Callisto's 4 cores. It does, you don't have to read anymore.

Overall Review: Scoring 5.9 in windows vista ultimate.

Pros: - Great price - Can unlock extra cores (I turned my AMD 550 BE X2 into an X4 with the F2C bios and ACC) - Lots of SATA headers

Cons: The onboard audio on my board had noticeable pops and hitches. I tested both the SPDIF and the analog and both had the problem. Since it would be too much hassle to dissassemble everything and send the board back, I ended up disabling the onboard audio and putting in an old PCI Envy24 card I had with SPDIF so I could get clean audio. - Only supports DDR3 RAM - Seemed to have compatibility problems with my Lite-On LH-20A1H DVD-RW drive; WinXP wouldn't recognize the drive. Had to swap to another drive. - The heatsink on the Northbridge 750 is not very securely attached.. it lifted off when I (stupidly) grabbed it to move the board

Overall Review: My 550 BE Runs pretty cool on this board, even with all 4 cores unlocked (currently idling at 33 degrees). The board it self runs fairly warm though (39 - 40 degrees idle).

Pros: The board has a nice layout, everything was clearly marked and the install was very straightforward. Everything posted and worked fine (or so it seemed) on the first POST. Seems like a great board for the money and I've had success with Gigabyte in the past.

Cons: I haven't nailed this down yet but I seem to have intermittent network dropouts (network will lose connectivity and then regain after a few seconds/minutes). At other times, the network will have small hiccups that cause poor performance. Rebooting fixes it temporarily. Here's the hitch, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and using the out of the box Realtek drivers. I'll probably have to install Vista 64-bit to rule out drivers/OS issues.

Overall Review: Save yourself some trouble and enable AHCI before installing the OS if you plan on getting the most out of your SATA drives. By default, the bios is set to IDE mode and it's a little harder to switch after the fact.

Pros: This is just a solid board... fired right up and took the Win 7 like a champ. Only one PCI E 2.0x16 slot for the vid, but if that's all you need. Tons of places to plug stuff in on this board... great value! Great features, Great board!

Cons: Nothing as of yet, we knew what we were getting and we got it!
