what ram do i use  Unbuffered / Single Ranked / Dual Ranked  / x8 based / x4 based ? i dont know

I settled on Crucial CT16G4RFD4213 - 16GB in a single chip dual ranked, unbuffered.

Memory speed is dependent on the CPU you choose.  I have the Intel 2620 - which does 1866 Mhz.  To get the memory to run at 2133 Mhz - you have to move up to the 2650 CPU - nearly 3x the cost.

I also put in the Crucial SSD CT6895837 - 500 GB.  Pops right into the motherboard.

Good luck - this is a really hot motherboard and very stable.

One caution - Centos sees eth0 on the right hand plug - and ProxMox sees eth0 in the center plug.

What operating systems do the Intel and Marvell RAID controllers support?

The driver disk seems to include Intel and Marvell RAID drivers for Windows Server 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2 and Windows 7x86, 7x64, 8x86, 8x64, 8.1x86, 8.1x64.

It seems that the RAID drivers for Linux will come from the OS distributions.  I use Ubuntu with this board but have not tried RAID.

What kind of BIOS does this motherboard have?  Does it support UEFI?

Hello, you can install up to 256GB of DDR4 RDIMM memory, or up to 512GB of DDR4 LRDIMM memory with this motherboard. The minimum required is 1 memory module installed, of any capacity.

I purchased this motherboard and I've lost the driver disk that came with it. Gigabyte's website doesn't have all the drivers needed for a Server 2012 installation. I'm missing about 15 Base System Device drivers. Does anyone know where I can download an iso of the driver disk that came with the board?
