Most Critical Review

Generally okay, but more of a mixed bag

Pros: - Okay price to performance ratio - Build quality

Cons: - Random unexpected shutdowns (not due to overheating). This has happened 6 times in 2 weeks. - GPU performance is admittedly fairly weak this generation. Not the builds fault. 8GB of ram is not enough for modern gaming (high frame rates, 1440p resolution, etc). - XMP profile had immediate issues. - Questionable sticker placement. - Case fans get very loud even at minimal load.

Overall Review: I would recommended this product due to it's cost. It would be difficult to get something better for less, especially while it's on sale. The build quality is pretty great at this price point. Very clean cable management. I do have some issues with it though. 1. The PC keeps shutting itself down. Newegg support thinks it could be a PSU issue, while Stormcraft suspects the XMP profile or memory is having issues. 6 unexpected shutdowns in 2 weeks so far. 2. The XMP profile. Initially the BIOS would not allow the ram to run at 3200Mhz like advertised (it was oddly running at 3000Mhz). After updating the BIOS and trying again, I was able to get the ram to run at 3200Mhz. The only issue is that now I have random full blown system crashes. It's yet to be seen if switching back to Auto XMP fixes the freezing / crashing. 3. Last point is very minor but they decided to put a sticker on the motherboard backplate, right over the main USB ports.. it was very sketchy removing it as it had glued itself to the back of the USB ports. I had to very very carefully remove it, to avoid any glue / residue from actually entering the ports. 4. The GPU can't handle 1440p or higher resolution. Not the fault of Stormcraft for this one, it's just a weak entry by NVIDIA. 1080P gaming seems decent though! So, while I would recommend this computer hypothetically, I am a bit disappointed by a few things.

Horrible backlight glow -- Manufacturing Defect?

GIGABYTE A5 X1 - 15.6" FHD IPS Anti-Glare 240Hz - AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU 8 GB GDDR6 - 16 GB Memory - 512 GB PCIe SSD - Windows 10 Home - Gaming Laptop (A5 X1-CUS2130SH)

Pros: - Good value for the hardware specs (CPU, GPU specifically).

Cons: - Intense back-light bleeding. I ended up sending the laptop back to Newegg for a replacement. - I will update the review once I receive the replacement laptop. Hopefully it was just a bad unit, and the new laptop I receive won't suffer from the back-light issue.

Overall Review: Seems like good hardware other than the LED panel bleeding issues. I will update the review once I receive the replacement item.
