Everything you'd expect from Gigabyte + nvidia

GIGABYTE WindForce GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 x8 ATX Graphics Card GV-N506TWF2-16GD
GIGABYTE WindForce GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 x8 ATX Graphics Card GV-N506TWF2-16GD

Pros: Device works great with my existing PSU and 8 pin power adapter. Fans are no louder than my outgoing and still-functional amazing GTX 1060 6GB (I still love you) Driver support is of the quality we've come to expect from Nvidia. Which is to say, very good. The brightness/post processing profiles remained intact, a nice bonus.

Cons: Two hiccups I experienced are: - During initial bringup, Windows 11 lost its marbles and wouldn't go to 1024x768 resolution. Geforce Experience gets upset about this and I couldn't click "OK" button to install driver. Manual driver download solves this. I don't give serious negative marks here, but this could have been better... especially since it's literally called the "Geforce Experience" - I didn't anticipate no DVI cables, adapters, etc. You mean it's not 2018 anymore? An extra $8 DP -> DVI adapter solved my issue. Not really a con. Just an FYI

Overall Review: Obviously upgrading from a 1060 to a 5060 Ti means I am gonna have a very positive review. Highly recommended Side note: shame on you Nvidia for selling 8gb versions of these.

Most Critical Review

90% awesome, 10% awful

D-Link DAP-2553 Wireless Access Point Selectable Dual Band AirPremier PoE IEEE 802.3/3u/3ab, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n 2.4/5GHz up to 300Mbps/ Multiple SSID, 802.1Q VLAN
D-Link DAP-2553 Wireless Access Point Selectable Dual Band AirPremier PoE IEEE 802.3/3u/3ab, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n 2.4/5GHz up to 300Mbps/ Multiple SSID, 802.1Q VLAN

Pros: I use two of these in WDS bridge mode - When it works, works extremely well - For what it is, simple to configure - Powerful signal - 90% of the time ~1 ms ping

Cons: - 10% of the time (in chunks) ping jumps to 500+ ms. Can not identify any interference, and happens all day long and night also so doesn't seem to be external - dlink support tells me devices must be minimum of 30' apart, otherwise they will interfere with each other. Mine are 20' and harder to get further than that. - not "true" dual band, must operate in either 5 or 2.4ghz. This disqualified it from being the general AP in the household

Overall Review: If we take dlink's 30' minimum on face value, then we can say this is a great part if you know the limitations. I expect most folks who do WDS will be 30' and above. To their credit, when I moved the parts from their original 15' distance to 20' the spikes were lower (they used to be 3000 ms+) However, I really wish this was obvious before making the purchase.

Excellent card

LSI MegaRAID SATA/SAS 9280-8e 6Gb/s PCI-Express 2.0 w/ 512MB onboard memory RAID Controller Card, Single--Avago Technologies
LSI MegaRAID SATA/SAS 9280-8e 6Gb/s PCI-Express 2.0 w/ 512MB onboard memory RAID Controller Card, Single--Avago Technologies

Pros: * Works out of the box * Technical but understandable configuration tools * FAST * fairly predictable (no strange errors, extra configurations, etc)

Cons: * Firmware updating can be a real pain. I had to do a bit of R&D to discover you have to upgrade from a VERY old firmware to an OLD firmware, then to a new firmware. * Doesn't seat perfectly solid in the slot, but clamping down the screw on the backplane makes this mostly a non issue. Just make sure it's tightened in solid

Overall Review: This is a great card and I am glad I picked one up. Right now running a RAID 10 2TB x 4 mixed drives 2 WD blacks, 2 WD SE's. I don't recommend the drive mixing setup (blacks run too hot and you can tell are a touch slower), go for the SE's, but very awesome the card handles it well.

Good unit

Sans Digital 4-Bay SAS/SATA JBOD Compact Tower Enclosure w/ Mini-SAS (SFF-8088) x 1 TR4X+B (Black)
Sans Digital 4-Bay SAS/SATA JBOD Compact Tower Enclosure w/ Mini-SAS (SFF-8088) x 1 TR4X+B (Black)

Pros: * Great value, supports 6G * Doesn't look bad * Reasonable cooling/airflow * Comes with 8088 SAS cable * With a bit of care, you can hot swap the drives

Cons: * Changing drives is a little work, but totally doable. The inconvenience of the low-tech "tray" approach is overblown. * A slightly longer cable woulda been nice

Overall Review: The cons are very minor. This is a budget box, and the bang for buck is very high; it does all the basic functions well.

Great PSU, but...

PC Power & Cooling Silencer MKIII Series 500 Watt 80+ Bronze Semi-Modular Active PFC Industrial Grade ATX PC Power Supply (PPCMK3S500)
PC Power & Cooling Silencer MKIII Series 500 Watt 80+ Bronze Semi-Modular Active PFC Industrial Grade ATX PC Power Supply (PPCMK3S500)

Pros: Great PSU. Quality. Quiet. PC Power and Cooling makes good stuff

Cons: OCZ rebate process. minus two eggs just for this. obnoxious and cumbersome. Perhaps the 21 day window is 'reasonable' but just furthers the irritation factor. I missed mine by one day, so no $20 rebate for me.

Overall Review: Will be looking extra hard for other PS of this quality, since OCZ business approach is so annoying.

nVidia does it again

EVGA 01G-P3-1561-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
EVGA 01G-P3-1561-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: - the same stability and quality we come to expect from nVidia + EVGA - A nice speed bump from a GTX260. Wasn't blown away, but solid

Cons: - Still experience FPS lag in blops sometimes, but neither my CPU or GPU are pegged so can't rightly blame the GPU.

Overall Review: As always, be sure you're running the latest drivers. If it's shiny and comes from EVGA + nVidia, I'll probably want it...
