Checks off most of what I wanted - barely

ViewSonic VG2439SMH 24 Inch 1080p Ergonomic Monitor with HDMI DisplayPort and VGA for Home and Office
ViewSonic VG2439SMH 24 Inch 1080p Ergonomic Monitor with HDMI DisplayPort and VGA for Home and Office

Pros: Video is mostly ok.* Easily adjustable height and tilt, and does swivel.** Has space-saving, built-in speakers.*** Has USB connectors.****

Cons: * The image takes longer than seems normal to appear when I turn the monitor on. (It's plugged into a KVM via HDMI that I switch between my home laptop and work laptop.) The image "jiggles" when I open certain screens while playing Civilization VI. I've tried adjusting the video but nothing has worked as of yet. Otherwise, the colors and overall function is fine (aside from some parts of Civ VI). ** Don't know why the base is squarish when the whole base swivels. It's like having a lazy-susan on your dinning table that's square. Would make more sense to make the square base sit in place and then have the "stem" holding the monitor rotate within the base ... or just make the base round. I didn't lower my rating for this one issue, but those who are annoyed/irritated or otherwise tweaked by this kind of oddness might find this too agitating for them. Obviously, I find this mildly agitating, but that's my issue! *** I had very low expectations for the built-in 2 watt speakers. And, yet, they still let me down. They work but they're quite tinny sounding. They simply don't play my music well at all or loud enough, and I'm NOT a sound snob. **** My old monitor had a USB port (1 or 2?, don't remember) but it worked without any other cables. This monitor has a USB port too, but I have to plug another cable in to power it and it is not easy to reach (it's underneath where all the other cables plug in; I have to contort myself to see where the plug is and which way to plug in my USB devices [I can't wait for USB-C to replace USB-A/B, USB-C doesn't have an "up" and "down"]).

Overall Review: It's possible I might consider buying this item again if I simply couldn't find anything else coming close to the space-saving built-in speakers included in this item. But I went back to my separate speakers that produce a little more sound but take up valuable space on my smallish desk in my home. So, maybe I wouldn't recommend it? I'm really on the fence on this one issue. The swivel design seems odd to me (the square base rotating like a lazy-susan) but that wouldn't be a show-stopper for me. The USB issue is also not a show-stopper for me.
