ASUS ZenBook Flip UX461UN-DS74T Ultra-Slim Convertible 2-in-1 Laptop 14” FHD, 8th gen Intel Core i7, 16 GB Memory, 512 GB SSD, Nvidia MX150, Windows 10 Home, Backlit keyboard, Fingerprint, Stylus Pen

Pros: Fast and responsive, very thin and light, awesome screen with great touch sensitivity.

Cons: Stylus not really all that good, in their effort to thin it down the fans make noise depending on where you touch the base.

Overall Review: My aging Android tablet was pretty much finished. after looking for several months I realized that the tablet was on the decline. I opted for a flip book that gives me the best of both worlds. I have to load an Android emulator which runs the apps and I also have a pretty strong PC. I would have preferred a 1 TB SSD option but at present the 512 is doing a good job. when running graphics intense operations it tends to get warm and the best option is to run it in tent mode for a while to cool it down. The heat vent is on the side so when working in bed the covers can easily cover that vent. The stylus wont work for me as a point and click but I really don't use them anyway. the touch pad is responsive but if you are going to need it a great deal get a wireless mouse. All in all this is a very good machine.

Great board with minimal fuss

ASUS ROG RAMPAGE VI EXTREME LGA 2066 Intel X299 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS ROG RAMPAGE VI EXTREME LGA 2066 Intel X299 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Easy to install, on board covered m.2 mount, RGB looks awesome, Overclocking not really a problem, CPU area not overcrowded like in Rampage V Extreme with ram installed and No back plate to cut your fingers on the motherboard is the back plate.

Cons: Didn't come with an install stick, only 1 USB 2.0 header, The parts of the board that aren't covered are somewhat crowded. Horrible customer support.

Overall Review: This is NOT recommended as your first gaming computer build as like with previous versions of of the Rampage Extreme series boards it can damage the board with too much heat too fast. You really should have a good understanding of both heat management and overclocking before you get a board like this. If you want your I9 gaming system and want the bragging rites this is the only board you should look at. The main problem is getting one. They sell like concert tickets when they come in. To ASUS I'd like to see a second USB 2.0 header installed as many devices like water coolers use them as well as most cases still use at least one of them. I had to use a 3.0 to 2.0 splitter. My original rating was 5 eggs. However there have been some serious issues since then. On the IO shield there is an OLED display that can show you different system specifications. Since day one that small screen has never powered on. I called support and spent nearly an hour with frequent holds while the girl checked resources. She kept coming back asking me to make sure it was plugged in. I kept telling her it was part of the board and there was no possible way to plug or unplug it. Finally she sent it up to the higher support who called me 2 days later and his first thing was to check to see that it was plugged in. I asked him if he was familiar with the board and he admitted he wasn't. He generated the RMA and because of the hollidays and insurance it cost me $102.00 to ship the board to them. I checked the status the day it arrived and within 1 hour of receiving it they had moved it to testing. I went to ASUS online chat and was told that they had flashed the BIOS and that fixed the problem. I wasn't happy that the support person didn't tell me to do this and saved me $102.00. The board came back and the small screen was still dark. I filed a complaint which was responded to by Peter B. That he agreed that it was frustrating and to call support again. I did and at near the one hour mark they gave me the case number and told me that I needed to downgrade from Windows 10 or wait for an update that would make it work. The window is supposed to give you POST codes which happen before it reaches the OS handoff. The support technician told me that this came from a senior technician and thank you for calling and hung up on me. If yours works out of the box congratulations but if it doesn't send it back to Newegg and try to get a new one. They said if I did another RMA I would have to cover freight again. I've now spent $752.00 on a $650.00 motherboard. In the past ASUS support has been spectacular but now that they've sent it offshore the quality has been sacrificed.

Pros: Non-functional green light on the brick is fine...

Cons: I plugged it in, but it didn't work. I used the cord from the other monitor, and it worked fine.

Overall Review: I won't be getting another. It claimed to be a direct replacement for my old unit

High DPS but poor tank

Pros: Looks great Awesome wiring Runs silent Aesthetically pleasing Comes with a small stand for transporting it with a heavy video card

Cons: One stick of ram was loose in the case. The front glass detonated when unboxing. Only comes with Windows 10 and basic drivers and no gaming drivers

Overall Review: I very nearly returned it on the day of arrival. The front safety glass detonated in my hand and got glass all over the room, in my hair, down my shirt, and on my legs. I suffered two very minor cuts on one leg and had to rush to the shower after removing the larger chunks of glass. The machine arrived on Saturday and Newegg as well as ABS was closed on the weekend. I didn't even plug it in until Monday for fear they'd want it back after I went through all the configuration. I called Newegg on Monday morning and they transferred me to ABS and they took care of the issue without me having to return the PC. This is a very powerful PC and will last me a number of years (hopefully)

Can you hear me now?

ASUS ROG Centurion Headset
ASUS ROG Centurion Headset

Pros: Good sound for music and excellent game field awareness.

Cons: The microphone may as well not be installed. No matter what you do in the settings and after a firmware update the best you can hope for is a muffled sound to your friends.

Overall Review: My Astro A50 headset was starting to show its age and when I saw that ASUS had real 7.1 I was on. I decided to test every aspect of them that I could. I started with the music aspect and it sounded horrible. I then downloaded the firmware update and installed the ROG equalizer software and that made a huge difference to the sound. I used the Rock preset and played, several tunes that utilize surround sound and one that was 3.1. They sounded very good but not great. Many of the smaller nuances of the song is lost and I can’t say they’re audiophile quality. To be honest I wasn’t expecting audiophile but I was expecting a bit more than what I got out of them. I played several games that use 7.1 and again the ambiant tones tend to wash together and picking out low level sounds is hard to do. You do hear directional sounds with little to no lag and that’s really what they’re designed for. I have to say that in the category of gaming they exceeded my expectations. Then came the time to team up and that’s where the whole thing went south. The microphone on this is horrible. Even with every possible setting maxed out the best I could hope for was a muffled sound. I turned off noise canceling and still no good. In order to team up I had to go back to my old set. That’s not good for a gaming headset and ASUS has really dropped the ball here. I honestly think this warrants a recall and replacement. They can’t blame the hardware that was sending the sound as it is on an ASUS ROG Rampage VI Extreme motherboard sound system. They do have excellent noise canceling and that is a major plus when gaming but the inability to communicate with team members is a non-starter. You would be better off getting an external mic and using it. I have to say don’t buy these until ASUS sorts out the microphone problem. As far as comfort goes they’re a bit on the heavy side and the ear cups are a bit shallow. I can feel them pressing my ears to my head and it feels good to take them off after only about 20 minutes which is another bad sign. If you are in a big MMO and doing several hours in a raid you will not be really happy at the end.

ASUS 27" 1440P Gaming Monitor (MG278Q) - QHD (2560 x 1440), 1ms, FreeSync

Pros: Good speed with minimal to no tearing. Great color and no headaches

Cons: They don't always work

Overall Review: I ordered 2 and one was DOA. Sent it back and new one had several bad pixels I decided to live with it but now it is getting more dead pixels in different colors.
