Perfect for mounting the Black Friday SSD that I bought
Pros: It's got a ton of holes that match the holes on a 3.5" drive so you can use the side screws or bottom screws At $ 6.19 the price can't be beat New Egg shipping was wicked fast. I ordered on Saturday and received it Tuesday
Cons: none
Overall Review: They should automatically offer these whenever you buy a 2.5" SSD in case you want to install it in a desktop computer. By the way I bought the cheap Bytec one first and it was worthless.
Can't Always Get What You Want
Pros: This is an addendum to my previous post.
Cons: Another thing with these short little things is that for ergonomics sake you have to elevate them. You're supposed to be looking straight ahead at monitor screens, not bending your neck all the time. I had to elevate the Viewsonic 5.5 inches so the screen is level with my eyes. There's no way you can put this on the same desktop level as the keyboard. I used the Steve Job biography book to help now that I'm done reading it--and I don't even have an Apple computer.
Upgrade for phone SD card
Pros: I notice a difference when transferring files between my PC and the phone--much faster.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Now that memory is cheap it's good to upgrade the micro SD cards in phones.
The Extender Can Be Great, But...
Pros: It was easy to setup using WPS on my Xfinity box. No more configuration needed. My small devices--tablet and smartphone--use my Wifi instead of phone data minutes, and the Netgear has a much better connection than connecting to the Xfinity box in the basement
Cons: However, this seems to have trouble maintaining a persistent connection through the weeks. So I've found that I need to unplug it from the electrical socket every few weeks and plug it in again to "reset" the connections. Otherwise the devices complain that they can't get to the internet sites. After reset, they're fine.
I Shoulda Listened
Pros: Cheap Price. The 2.5" SSD attaches easily to the adapter
Cons: But the holes for the rest don't line up with anything in the current hard drive slot. Tried it on Lenovo 71e and HP Elite 8300. Nothing lines up anywhere in terms of where the holes are on a standard 3.5" drive. So I had to order a Sabrent BK-HDDF instead. I don't recommend
