6 Plus Years, lots of abuse and still humming

SeaSonic S12II Series S12II 620 Bronze (SS-620GB) 620 W Intel ATX 12 V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
SeaSonic S12II Series S12II 620 Bronze (SS-620GB) 620 W Intel ATX 12 V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: In spite of much moving around and poor heat-management abuse by owner, still works just fine after 6 years.

Cons: N/A

Overall Review: I shopped this for my sister's computer and she abused the hell out of it for 5 years moving it from room to room and place to place, keeping on the floor with cats around. The inside of it actually covered in caked dust and cigarette smoke. But the fan still works and the casing is cool to the touch. I have built about 70 to 80 computers over the last 20 years for myself, friends and family and mostly have used Antec, FSP, and OCZ power supplies and many many of them have failed over time. But this Seasonic is still going after 6+ years. Fantastic product!

Beware! Top left-most mobo mounting point off by at least two millimeters. Couldn't use it.

Antec VSK VSK3000E U3 Black SGCC Steel Micro ATX Mid Tower Case
Antec VSK VSK3000E U3 Black SGCC Steel Micro ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: --It fit my 'MSI RX 480 GAMING X 4G' which is huge --Nice minimalist look and design. I absolutely love the look and size of this case sitting here beside me on my desktop.

Cons: --I am advising against this case for one reason, the top-leftmost standoff mount was off by at least 2 millimeters rendering it unusable regardless of how much I tried to work with it. All the other standoffs aligned perfectly, but I had to leave the motherboard unmounted at the top-leftmost point. --metal is thin and light but that is honestly why I bought it. Not really a con. I wanted something small and light.

Overall Review: This is the first case I have ever purchased that is under $50 AND that there were not numerous reviews on. Everything else but the standoff mounting point was fine by me. Too bad I can't recommend this case for that reason, because I love the aesthetics of it.

Not overclocking, Crucial vanilla is all you need.

Pros: Works great

Cons: N/A

Overall Review: For my own PCs over the last 20 years I have never once purchased those rams with the flashy paint jobs or heat spreader. I usually just look for the cheapest bare sticks I can find, mostly Crucial or Mushkin. I have got two of the latter in a second sys sitting beside me on my desk.

My second low-end ASRock build. Works fine!

Pros: Supports NVMe SSD as boot disk

Cons: N/A

Overall Review: Paired with Kaby Lake i5-7500 and 8gb of basic Crucial DDR4 RAM. I have been installing low to mid range (brand name) boards for years and honestly and as long as you do your homework feature limitations and compatibility requirements, there is no reason for someone to pay for a more expensive board on some hunch that higher price somehow equates to more reliability. That is true with PSUs but with motherboards as long as you stick with a good brand like ASRock and are happy with the specs, these boards will last you beyond their obsolescence cycle. Most of the poor reviews I have read regarding these less expensive boards are related to competency level of the of the reviewer.

Pros: Still running smooth since 1 month ago.

Cons: no cons

Overall Review: I just wanted to update my review because I wrote one a few days after I installed the motherboard. Now it has been more than a month and the board is running just fine.

Works fine. Will be buying more.
