Pros: Fast, and stable. No RGB!!!!!!
Overall Review: Great and stable at 3600! At first I didn't know how to get it to 3600. I was stuck at 3200. Then found in bios where to get it right, and presto 3600 speeds! Nice! I would have been happy at 3200 since I like stability over absolute speed but getting what you paid for is nice. I will buy another 16gb to max out my system since I keep my computers for a long time. Thanks G.Skill!
Pros: Fast, cheap, used to update my x470 bios so I can buy an AMD 4000cpu in 2020 or 2021. Then I'll put this in a htpc.
Overall Review: Great little CPU. Fast and runs cool. Plays all my games in 1080p with ease. I have this in a Asus x470 Strix with 16gb memory and a Nvidia 1660. Nice little system
Pros: I purchased an Acer TC-885-UR19 computer and wanted to put a new 1660 Nvidia graphics card in it. So I had to upgrade my power supply unit. the unit in the computer was only a 300 watt unit and did not have a cable for a graphics card. I know Seasonic makes great power supplies and wanted a gold rated or above unit to help keep heat down since the case is so small. This was another reason I bought this power supply. The size is smaller than an average power supply, and the same size as the unit it was replacing making it a perfect fit. the installation was pretty straight forward. while handling the new power supply you could tell the difference in quality from the power supply it was replacing. the cables are plenty long and again very high quality. the connections were firm and tight. I have owned many other brands of power supplies over the past 20 years, and have to say this is the nicest one yet. There is no sound that I can hear coming from this unit too. the unit came well packaged in first rate packing materials and with all the cables you could ask for. I would buy this Season is all over again.
Pros: Tons of Channels!!! Streams wonderfully! Fast operation with Roku's new menu system.
Cons: This unit looks like it wont ever get Youtube. Also Not a bad thing but controller wasn't synced right out of the box. After reading instructions and getting the remote synced (all of 30 seconds) the device works great!!
Overall Review: Great little streaming player!!! came packaged well and easy to setup. I run this using wifi and it works great! I have DSL 10mbps download and I never see a buffer screen ever. PLEASE READ MANUAL TO GET YOUR REMOTE TO WORK IF IT DOES NOT WORK OUT OF THE BOX LIKE MINE DIDNT. EASY TO PAIR IT WITH THE ROKU BOX. TAKES SECONDS TO DO.
Pros: Fast, reliable, good range. I connect an Ipod Touch 5th gen to this as well as My cell phone and kindle Fire HD tablet, and two Roku's. I have hard wired my main computer to this as well. everything runs great. I also love the easy press button security set up as well as the other button which turns off your Wifi but not your hard wired connection. So if you go to work you don't have to worry about someone using your router. Also you can setup a second ssid which I did to setup a guest connection to keep people separate from my home network yet still give people/guests access to the internet. Streaming movies is not a problem with this!!!
Cons: Lights don't flash when uploading or downloading so you cant tell unless you have something on screen showing your upload/download progress. Not a big deal but would have been nice.
Overall Review: I have the dgn2200v3 model and could for the life of me not figure out why I could not save changes in the routers config. Then I tried something. I was using Internet Explorer to log into the router and change settings. With no success I tried Firefox browser and I was able to change the settings and SAVE them. I don't know what in Internet Explorer prevented me from saving changes but after using Firefox everything works great. Very easy to upgrade firmware and very solid performer after everything was done. I use my model Dgn2200v3 With Centurylink and everything is great. I only use firefox to change settings and save them after that I went back to internet explorer cause I know it better. not knocking Forefox browser at all.
Pros: Fast, Easy Install! Works as it should on my dads Asrock z87 Extreme6 motherboard.
Overall Review: Everything just went right on the motherboard as expected.
Pros: Fast!! Many options. This motherboard comes with a front USB 3.0 panel which makes plugging in something like an ipod or thumb drive very easy. No more reaching around the back of your case to get USB 3.0!!!! 7.1 hd audio sounds great. Easy to navigate Bios!! Also upgrading the bios is a snap with upgrading over the internet. No more downloading files with an installer like the old days. Just click a button and it downloads and installs from the internet on its own. Very easy!
Cons: Not a Con, but please read bottom of Other Thughts!
Overall Review: This Motherboard was purchased from Newegg by my dad. I built this for him and recommended it since I had such a positive experience with my Z77 Asrock extreme6 Motherboard. Infact this is my 4th Asrock Motherboard and I have never had a problem with them ever. They just get better!
PLEASE READ: I cant stress this enough. The updated drivers on asrocks website made a big difference in how well this motherboard operates. The usb drivers alone made everything much better. I also upgraded the Bios to I believe its now Bios 2.10 as of this writing. So far everything is stable and running great. I did have the problem others mentioned about the keyboard not working while installing but found it worked when I plugged it into my antec 300's case front usb panel and all the lights on my lighted keyboard came on and I was in business. never thought that a lighted keyboard would come in handy for that??? Anyway I don't consider any of this a Con just part of putting together a new system, speaking of which the system I built for my dad is listed below. Take care and good luck! again I would buy this motherboard all over again!!
Motherboard: Asrock z87 extreme6
Memory: Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR3 1600 KHX1600c10d3b1/8g
CPU: Intel haswell 4670k core i5
Power Supply: Corsair 750
Pros: Easy to install of coarse. After setting speed in bios it operates perfectly at the advertised 1600Mhz speed. 8GB on one stick leaves plenty of room for future memory upgrade. Low profile so it does not get in the way of other installed items on the motherboard like an aftermarket cooler ( at least on my motherboard).
Overall Review: I have used Kingston memory many times over the last 15 years and never had a problem. They make high quality memory and again have been making memory a long time. I would buy again and will when I upgrade to 16gb by adding a second one of these memory modules.
This memory went into this system
Motherboard : Asrock Z87 extreme6
CPU : Intel Haswell 4670k core i5
case : Antec 300
Power Supply : Corsair 750
Pros: Fast runs cool at stock speeds which are fast enough for me and i game a lot. Easy install. Does everything i want it to do just faster than i thought it would be. I upgraded from an AMD phenom 720be CPU on an older AM2+ motherboard. This cpu just has the horse power to muscle its way threw everything i throw at it.
Overall Review: This CPU was installed on an ASROCK Extreme6 Z77 Motherboard. My new system is as follows.
Motherboard: ASROCK Extreme6 Z77
CPU: INTEL 3570k
Memory: Kingston 8gb stick KHX16C10BR1R/8 (I have two sticks of this ram running Making 16gb Total)
Case: Antec 900
Pros: The board is well laid out!! Easy to read and well printed manual. Has many features that more expensive boards have. Has a USB 3.0 front panel connector to make it easy to plug in your usb devices without having to reach around the back of your computer. The bios is the best i have ever seen. I have owned ASUS,Asrock, CHAINTECH (REMEMBER THEM) Gigabyte and ECS among others. This is my third ASROCK Board and it works great like all the other Asrocks i have owned.
Cons: Not with Asrock but with Newegg!! A week after i bought this motherboard they offered it with 8gb of free ram!!! That will leave a bad taste in your mouth!
Overall Review: PLEASE READ!!! One thing i must say!! when i installed this motherboard for the first time i noticed that my USB keyboard and usb mouse only worked in the usb 2.0 slot and not in any of the usb 3.0 slots. So keep that in mind when installing. I dont know if its because the usb 3.0 drivers have to be installed first or it was the bios my board came with didnt support usb 3.0 out of the box. Everything works now great and i was able to plug my keyboard and mouse into the usb 2.0 slot to get the system up and running and from there i got all the drivers installed and usb 3.0 works like a charm as does the rest of this fast motherboard. My system is..
Motherboard: ASROCK Z77 Extreme6
CPU: Intel 3570k
CPU COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Memory: Kingston 8gb KHX16C10B1R/8 (Two Sticks making 16gb total)
Case: Antec 900
Motherboard: ASUS 990fx AM2+
CPU: AMD phenom 720be
MEMORY: 4gb OCZ ddr2 800
Case: Antec 900
Pros: Great Ram! Kingston has been around for ever and has been always a top notch ram maker. I bought two sticks to run on an ASROCK Extreme6 motherboard and everything worked first boot up. I got 16gb of ram which is overkill for me now but i always need more later with previous builds so i bought two sticks for future proofing my system this time. I upgraded from a ddr2 system and needed more memory. Well the price of ddr2 has gone threw the roof for 8gb of ram. So i figured time to upgrade the whole system and buy enough ram not to run into that problem again when this new system ages a bit. Since ddr3 is cheap now I just went for it. I forgot to say this is low profile ram which left room for my aftermarket CPU cooling solution (Coolmaster Hyper 212 EVO)
Overall Review: Great Ram would buy again!!! This ram is running on this system...
Motherboard: Asrock Extreme6 Z77
CPU: Intel 3570k
Ram: two sticks of this Kingston ram
CPU Cooler: Coolmaster Hyper 212 Evo
I wanted ram that was fast and stable and found it. Thanks Kingston! Would buy again in a heart beat.
Pros: Well this was my first CPU cooler that needed a behind the motherboard bracket to mount. Very easy to install. All parts were in the box with the well written directions. I installed this on an ASROCK Z77 Extreme6 Motherboard. This is cooling an Intel 3750k CPU and doing well I must add. Runs quiet
Overall Review: This cooling device is large make sure you have the room on your motherboard.
Pros: I have owned many a video cards over the years(Nvidia and ATI) and this one is one of the best bang for the bucks i have gotten my hands on. Runs cool and quite compaired to many of the others i have owned. Vents most of what heat it does generate out the back of the case. Easy install. Uses only one 6 pin pcie plug. Cards length not bad at all. Installed this in my antec 900 case.
Cons: None that i can think of
Overall Review: This card really is fantastic! If you want something with DX11 that can play most if not all modern games with decent frame rates look no further. I cant wait to get another for crossfire!!
Case antec 900
CPU AMD 720 phenom 2
Motherboard ASUS m3a32-MVP Deluxe
4 gb ddr 800 ram
windows 7 home
Computer getting dated but still runs everything i throw at it!
Hope this review helps... take care!
Pros: Great price for what you get. Never had a problem with any Western Digital drives I have owned over the last 20 years. man im getting OLD!!!!
Cons: None that i can think of.
Overall Review: Great price, fast shipping.. got here in no time. Would buy again!!!
Pros: Great Graphics. Great Story line. Great single player mode. Game runs great on my machine.. not choppy at all. The game is worth the money for the predator campaign alone. Yes it's short but it's fun to play over and over to try to get threw missions a different way. Same with alien Campaign!!
Cons: The only 2 cons I have is the Marines seem too weak. You almost have to use a whole clip of ammo to kill something. Not realistic to me in that sence. In the movie Aliens one clip killed a lot of aliens. Oh yeah i almost forgot like others have mentioned you will here the humans say the same lines over and over. That gets old!!!! They could of easily put more speach lines in this game!!!
Overall Review: I think they did a good job with this game overall. Your always going to have people who couldn't run it for whatever reason. for what it's worth it runs great on my machine never had a problem. My machine is not that fast either. My rig is as follows.
Amd phenom II 720 tri core CPU
HIS radeon 6850
4 gig ddr2 ram
Asus M3A32-MVP deluxe Motherboard
Not a bad game and the price is dirt cheap at the time of this writting. well worth it for the predator and alien campaigns alone!!! Take care
Pros: Uses Low power. Only needed one 6 pin pcie cord. Fan is Very quiet. Takes the heat that it does generate and vents it out the back of your computer. Runs cool in my antec 900 case. Runs need for speed hot pursuit, Black Ops,cod4, left 4 dead2 easily.
Overall Review: Just need another for crossfire.
Pros: Passive cooler, 1gb ddr3 ram, HDMI with 7.1 surround sound, PCI express 2.1, dx11. This little card has so much. I bought this for an HTPC build and i must say it fits the bill perfectly. No noisy fan! I was using the video that comes on the motherboard but this smokes that. Glad i upgraded. easy install. drivers from ati worked great first time.
Overall Review: THIS IS NOT A GAMING CARD!!!! If you are thinking of buying this for gaming, save up your money and get a faster card!!!
Pros: Small and almost all the connections you need. (see cons). I bought this to make an htpc build using an old core 2 duo 1.86ghz cpu. Runs great so far. Has Hdmi. uses also old and cheaper at the time im writting this ddr2 800 memory. Booted right up after connecting everything using windows 7 home premium. I also always liked foxconns website and manuals more than most other motherboard makers out there. This little board is really quick. I have 4gb of ram installed and everything runs smooth.
Cons: would have been nice to have had another usb header.
Overall Review: This is the second foxconn motherboard i have installed and both worked great first time around. The other was for a gaming machine for my nephew which he still uses to this day.
Pros: Installed and windows 7 set it up right away. No problems. I just bought this for a Home Theater PC build. Put in a dvd (don't have blu ray disks yet) and worked great first time. I love lite-on drives. I just never have had a problem with them.
Overall Review: I bought this cause i will be getting into blu ray movies soon. Still watching dvds (happily i might add) but just needed a new drive and why not upgrade to a blu ray player for future proofing now that i got an hdtv on black friday. Very happy with purchase.
Pros: Everything fits perfect. well made. Solid construction. Keeps system very cool with the top vent and the power supply being down low so the heat can rise up and out!
Overall Review: Nothing fancy really just a great well thought out design.
Pros: Single +12v rail with lots of power! Flat modular cables. Japanese-made capacitors, Very efficient power wise. Has a five year warranty.
Also has these rubber end pieces that fit over the very ends to help reduce vibration noise.
Overall Review: Runs as advertised. this power supply is running..
motherboard Asrock 775dual-vista socket 775 motherboard
1 hard drive
cpu intel core 2 duo
one nividia agp card.
This is not a high end system by any means. i just wanted a second computer for backup and made it out of old parts. i just needed a power supply. One thing ive learned is never go cheap i have learned my leason well. So i bought this because it has a single +12v rail with lots power and two pci-e connectors for future upgrade. Runs silent too. Would recommend and buy again if needed another.
I don't know what you end up buying but save yourself some money by spending a little more on a power supply that is of high quality... you will save money in the long run. Take it from someone who learned the hard way.
Pros: BIG, packaged well. no stuck or bad pixels. Makes everything better. Sharp picture. PRICE! Best upgrade i have ever made. just makes your time on a computer that much better whether playing games or surfing the net it just ROCKS!
Cons: Didn't buy this earlier!
Overall Review: My Nephew bought a year or two ago now a hanns g 19 inch monitor and still runs perfectly today. So i thought since there were so many positive reviews on this one and not being much more than a 24 inch monitor what the heck. Well every now and then i buy something that just blows me away and this monitor does. Call of duty 4 looks awesome as does Supreme Commander. Cant wait to try the others games. If you have ever gone from a small screen tv set to a larger one than you know it is nicer watching a bigger screen... well its the same for a computer i think especially since your much more interactive on a computer. Just Fantastic!!
Pros: Whats not to like?
Super fast out of the box!
I didnt want to spend a lot of money on new ddr3 memory and motherboard when my ddr2 1066 is more than fast enough with my current motherboard which is an Asus m3a32-mvp deluxe. The only thing that needed an upgrade was my old AMD 5400 black edition cpu. So this fit the cheap upgrade i was looking for. Great for now and when i want to make the jump to socket am3 and ddr3 memory i can. for now this runs all my games like cod4,supreame commander, sins of solar empire, crysis, World in Coflict without a problem. Oh yes the price is sweat too. runs cool as well.
Overall Review: this cpu is running...
asus m3a32-mvp deluxe motherboard
2 palit 4850's in crossfire config
corsair 750 power supply
so far a very stable system and again this cpu really is a great bang for the buck.
Pros: Cheap if the rebate comes threw! Worked as advertised.
Well packaged. Fast delivery
Overall Review: I heard Vista works better with more ram than i had. This fit the bill perfectly. Everything runs very smooth now. memory really seems to be the cheapest and easiest upgrade there is.
Pros: Looks great, plenty of room inside case to install just about anything, really moves air in and out of case.
Cons: None really.
Overall Review: I never understood why so many cases were not designed to move air in and out better. Here is an example of when someone got it right. Thanks Antec!
