Keeps my CPU cool while being whisper quiet
Pros: - Very quiet! Didn't even know my computer was on until the monitor came to life. - Keeps temps for my i7-8700 under 45 C (note: I'm using standard set up, not overclocking). - Well constructed
Cons: - Hate the form factor that screws it down from the bottom of the MoBo, but that seems to be pretty standard for this socket.
Overall Review: Definitely worth the money. I'm using this in two different builds, and the thing has been doing exactly what it's supposed to without a bunch of flashing lights or gimmicky shapes.
Shoddy product with poor design
Pros: It was cheap. In fact, so cheap, I refused to make it part of my build
Cons: I purchased this with the hope of putting it into my new computer. When the product arrived, I opened the box and immediately noticed several issues: 1.) The adjustable backing (adjustable by chip type) was pretty flimsy 2.) The adjustable backing wouldn't fit along the back of my motherboard (ROG STRIX 370) 3.) The springs for the screws had a very high k-factor, which would result in way too much force being applied to the chip 4.) The conductor area had a crummy little piece of plastic with gummy adhesive in place to protect the surface 5.) The entire inside of the package (and the product itself) were coated in metal dust 6.) The thermal paste was pretty sketchy looking
Overall Review: I didn't install this into my build. Even if it would have fit the motherboard, the spring tension was so high, I would be afraid of damaging the CPU. I would steer clear of this product and spend the extra $18 on a good heat sink and cooler!
