By extending range does that mean that the signal I normally receive within my home will be stronger?

The signal should be stronger, depending on where you put the range extender.  The range extender needs to get a good signal from your wi-fi router.  Then it will repeat that signal.  For example, my wi-fi router is on the second floor of my home.  I placed the range extender on the first floor more or less under the router.  The signal in parts of the first floor and basement used to be fairly weak because of the distance and walls and floors.  Now I have a good signal everywhere in the house either from the router itself or the range extender.

How hard is this to set up for a person with NO tech knowledge?

Save your money. It essentially doesn't work. I've used three different "Range Extenders" including this one. First issue, every time you extend the range, you take a 40% band width hit. So if you had 10MB at the primary WiFi AP, you now only have about 6MB. Then I ran into a lot of problems getting my gear to switch between the primary, farther away and weaker to the closer but slower connection. In the end, after wasting my money on these, I replaced my primary WiFi with a new AC1900 WiFi AP and all is good. Great Range and High Speed.

Can this be set up without using WPS?

Yes.  I have done it and prefer alternative method.  However, I have since changed to Netgear's wireless range extender as this one continued to drop out at my home as well as my daughter's home.  Have had no problem with the Netgear range extender.

Question 4

I don't see anything about if this can be used as an Access Point.

I have an existing reliable wired network and I just want to extend the wireless coverage, not using a wireless repeater.

Will this do the trick?

I have poor wifi coverage in parts of my house and wanted to get better wifi.  Purchased this and put it on the edge of the wifi poor area and after setup Now i can use wifi in the dead zone spots. It will extend your current wifi broadcast name so you dont have to leave one wifi name and reconnect on a different.

Why wouldn't it?  If you have a plug adapter from US standard to wherever you live I do not see why it would not.
