Yes, I've got Windows 7 on one of the two machines connected to the switch, the switch worked right out of the box - no special drivers, etc.

The TK-207K for USB has one marked keyboard and one marked mouse. It has one USB output for each computer. Can the computers distinguish the keyboard and mouse inputs when they come in via one USB port?

The USB outlet are for the mouse and keyboard.  There are two more cables in the back that go into each computer not shown that has a different connector that seperates the information for both computers.  We have had ours since the beginning of october and it works great.  Hitting Scroll lock twice switches from computer to computer or  you can change it manually.  Hope this helps

Can I connect my printer to your product so I can print from either computer?

The USB part of the KVM switch is a simple USB Hub.  Anything goes.  While I have not used it on printers, I have used it for connecting a flash drive (in turn, one at a time) to two computers.  You could also add a USB hub to it if you need more USB ports switched between the computers, but the extra hub might need to be powered by its own AC adapter, as power is always an issue with computer USB ports, which power this KVM switch.  I don't think that printers put a load on the power, however.

Does this Trendnet TK-207K 2 come with cables ready to install?  Does it come with all you need to install on two computers?

Yes it has two cables and is ready to install on 2 computers. The cords are a little short, so don't have your computers too far apart or too far from your monitors. Other than that, you shouldn't have any problems

I have an IOgear now and do NOT like using the keyboard since I have two macs and using the control key is problematic.
Does Trendnet use the keyboard to switch? Or are there actual buttons?

The two little buttons seen in the picture on the top of the device are how you switch between the computers. So no, the keyboard is not used at all to switch.

Will this item work without the monitor connections?  I need a KM switch only (no video).  I want to use a single keyboard/mouse and switch control between a desktop and a laptop - keeping the monitors separate.

(Some of the software-based solutions will not work because they are on two different networks.)

I think it will work fine. Only plug in the USB connection into your computer and you shouldn't have to worry about monitor switching.

I am not monitor switching either. I have 2 computers, 1 monitor for each and I just switch mouse and keyboard depending on which computer I'm using.

Maybe, it may not work well, due to the fact the switch has to pass the connection from the dongle to the pc and it only polls every 10 seconds
