I love this case
Pros: - Excellent fit and finish. - Hidden 5.25 bay - It's a lot for the price - Good placement of cable management ties, etc - It's quieter than I was expecting.
Cons: - I would like a hard drive activity indicator, but it's not a big deal. - The "Pop Cover" can press the eject button of an optical drive if you aren't careful. Best to recess the drive back by one screw location. - I tried mounting an additional Fractal Design 140mm fan in the top rear position but it won't fit. It hits the latch on the CPU 12V connector. A 120mm fan works fine in that position.
Overall Review: I had been using a Fractal Design Arc Mini case for the past 8 or 9 years and the only reason I replaced it was to fit a full size ATX motherboard. I'm one of those people who use an optical blu-ray burner once or twice a year so this was the ideal case option for me. Overall I'm very impressed with the quality of this case.
Very nice!
Pros: It's nice and small, and it seems to be made quite well. I love the way they did the audio switching so that you can listen to music on one PC while you swutch just the video to a different PC. It also switches very fast comparied to my old Belkin KVM. You can use the mouse immediately once the monitor swtiches over. I had to wait 2 or 3 seconds on my old one.
Cons: I don't understand why they put the Mouse and Keyboard PS/2 ports on the front panel. Would have been better on the back. I'm using some short PS/2 extension cables to run from the front ports to my mouse and keyboard cables because they have larger size plugs with power adapters pluging in... I also wish they shipped four 6ft cables instead of the 2 6ft and 2 4ft cables.
Overall Review: Overall I'm very happy with it. I'm switching between Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux machines. No problems so far.
Not for inverted cases!
Comments: The AI Cool-Pipe cooling system for the northbridge chip does not work well when the motherboard is installed into an inverted ATX case like my Silverstone TJ06. I think with the type of heat pipe it uses the cooling fins SHOULD be higher than the heat block on the northbridge chip. I measured the temperature on top of the heat block on the northbridge (no system load). With the cooling fins lower than the heat block (inverted case) the heat block reached 75C. I then let it cool down, flipped the case over (standard atx case orientation) and the temp reached only 50C. 75C does not exceed the chip rating but I still won't run it like that. I may need to use the case upside-down until I can get a standard type case...
Fast!
Comments: After trying 2 different USB2 card readers (which all had conflicts with a particular HP printer) I decided to try firewire. I'll never go back to USB2 for a card reader or other storage device. It installs easily - no oddball conflicts like with USB, and it's much faster than the USB2.0 card readers that I had. My only complaint is that the cable could be longer and it plugs into the side of the reader instead of into the back so it takes up more desk space than it could with the cable coming out of the back.
