Amazing card

EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 02G-P4-2670-KR
EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 02G-P4-2670-KR

Pros: This card is screaming fast, but that's not really why I bought it. Upgrading from a 570 which was doing the job just fine for graphics, I got this card for the ability to display out to 4 monitors. I have to say, going from dual displays to a three display surround and one more additional auxiliary display literally changes how I use my computer. I've got three 23 inch acer displays and I'm using a sony 39 inch LCD TV as a fourth display. Watching movies on the TV display while playing BF3 in full surround? forget about it.

Cons: I don't get outside much anymore, but I think the glow from the four freakin' displays should at least keep me tan.

Overall Review: My friend got the 680 and while he can squeeze out a few more frames at higher settings, I think the 670 is really the way to go unless you just have an extra hundred bucks that you don't know what to do with.

Horrible RMA experience, no confidence in the longevity of this product

ASUS ROG Swift 27" 1440P Gaming Monitor (PG278Q) - QHD (2560 x 1440), 144Hz, 1ms, G-SYNC, USB 3.0, DisplayPort, Pivot, Tilt, Swivel, Height Adjustable
ASUS ROG Swift 27" 1440P Gaming Monitor (PG278Q) - QHD (2560 x 1440), 144Hz, 1ms, G-SYNC, USB 3.0, DisplayPort, Pivot, Tilt, Swivel, Height Adjustable

Pros: Nice large, sharp image. Very bright (actually had to turn down brightness to match my other monitors). Thin bezel design makes multiple monitor setups look very nice. G-Sync technology does improve graphic performance as advertised. Beautiful adjustable stand with cool looking light at the base which can be turned off if so desired.

Cons: Only one display output - Display port. This is a limitation of the G-Sync technology apparently. Not a big deal for me, but might be for some with limited display connection options on their card. Cost prohibitive because of the over priced G-Sync module. Abhorrent warranty repair service - monitor was returned to me in worse condition than it was shipped out in.

Overall Review: The G-Sync technology is effective, but definitely not worth the added cost of this monitor, and I'll tell you how I came to this conclusion. I purchased this monitor back in April and was impressed with how improved my gaming experience was at first. With G-Sync enabled, graphics seemed to run much more smoothly and in higher FPS. After three months, however, the image began to flicker, and jump on the monitor. Since it was beyond the Newegg return period I submitted a warranty claim with ASUS. The claim process was relatively painless, they issued me an RMA number within 24 hours along with shipping instructions. The worst part about that was the $50 shipping I had to put up to ship it back. For a $900 monitor I had hoped they'd at least send me a pre-paid shipping label, but oh well. While I waited for the monitor to be repaired I went back to my original 22" triple monitor setup. This was when I realized how little G-Sync actually made a difference in my gaming. Obviously I had to turn V-Sync back on in all my games or deal with the horrible tearing, but after adjusting my settings back to compensate, I really didn't lose that much performance overall. I found that the only thing I really missed was the size of the 27" monitor and the higher refresh rate. I could have had virtually the same experience with just a high quality 27" monitor, and saved a good chunk of cash without the G-sync technology. Now all that said, I would rate the RMA experience average up until this point. Even having been without my monitor for 2 weeks, spending the extra cash to ship it, the disappointment in having to deal with faulty equipment in the first place, I was willing to chalk it up to unfortunate luck. I work in IT so I understand that electronic equipment can and will fail from time to time, no big deal. But I cannot believe the condition my monitor was in when it was returned to me. When I shipped the monitor out, I figured what better packaging to ship it in than the original box I had purchased it in. The box was still new and sturdy, the Styrofoam still solid and fit the monitor perfectly. When they shipped it back to my they did not use the same box which I thought very odd. The box was much weaker, and was coming apart at the seams. When I opened the box I found that they packed my monitor in bubble wrap, and literally broke the stand into two parts to make it lay flat in the box. They didn't just disassemble it, I mean cracked housing, scratched the base, the light doesn't work anymore, broken. And the stand no longer snaps into the monitor, so it just kinda hangs there and vertical configuration is no longer possible. They literally threw away perfectly good packaging I used to ship to them, and then broke the stand just to make it fit into a generic box with bubble wrap. I see no other reason why the base was handled in such a way as the fault was in the monitor itself. The condition I received my monitor in is unaccepta

Raspy fan

PNY GeForce GTX 970 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card VCGGTX9704XPB
PNY GeForce GTX 970 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card VCGGTX9704XPB

Pros: Great price for the performance

Cons: I have two of these cards installed in my system and once installed I noticed a raspy fan noise from inside my case. I tested all of the fans and narrowed the noise down to one of the cards. With one of the cards removed, the noise was nearly gone but I realized the 2nd card also had this awful raspy sound but to a lesser extent. Whats worse is that the flimsy shroud on this card amplifies the sound by vibrating with the fan. If I hold the shroud firmly while the fan is spinning, the noise is deadened slightly.

Overall Review: See my first review for other thought. I had originally given the card 4 stars and mentioned the fan noise, but at the time I suspected it was my CPU fan which turned out not to be the case. With no cards installed, my case is completely silent.

Disappointing sound quality

Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 with 7.1 Surround Sound, Wireless Headphones with Microphone
Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 with 7.1 Surround Sound, Wireless Headphones with Microphone

Pros: Wireless, mic sounds good, convenient charging cable management included, easy to use controls and programmable buttons, setup was incredibly easy, battery life is long enough for typical lenght gaming sessions, 7.1 audio sounds good for true surround sound sources.

Cons: Weighs heavy and hot after long use, mono and stereo audio sounds reverbed out due to the 7.1 upsampling, noise cancelling works so well that I can't hear myself speak which feels odd when using software like skype.

Overall Review: I picked this headset up because I was really tired of dealing with the cord on my old $20 headset. I wanted a wireless solution that sounds good. A freiend highly recommended the G930 headset. Despite all of the pros I listed above, I have to give it two stars due to the highly annoying reverb sound when playing mono and stereo audio. I mostly use this headset while gaming, and while gaming I'm chatting with my team on VOIP software. With the 7.1 on people sound like they are in a steel room. The same goes for things like watching videos or anything where a person's voice is the main part of the audio. I don't consider myself a big audiophile but this annoys the bgeezus out of me. I asked my friend who owns the same headset about it and he just kinda shrugged it off saying it's just something he's learned to deal with. I couldn't stand it, so I searched for solutions to the problem. What I found was not a solution, just an explaination that when the software upsamples stereo and mono audio to 7.1, it adds this reverb. I don't know if it's poor upsampling or intentional to make it sound bigger but the only solution was to turn 7.1 off entirely. So ultimately I've been using it with the 7.1 turned off, and resting one of the earpieces off to the side to leave one ear open. I program my VOIP software to only use the headset and all other audio through my 5.1 surround speakers in the room. Ths totally defeats the purpose of owning the headset. I would return them, but I have owned them for longer than the return period as I tried to find solutions and workarounds to this most annoying issue.

Fantastic Value

Acer S231HLbid Black 23" 5ms HDMI LED-Backlight LCD monitor Slim Design 250 cd/m2 ACM 12,000,000:1 (1000:1)
Acer S231HLbid Black 23" 5ms HDMI LED-Backlight LCD monitor Slim Design 250 cd/m2 ACM 12,000,000:1 (1000:1)

Pros: Crisp image, very thin, very light, minimal bezel. All around really good display. DVI, VGA, and HDMI connections AND it comes with cables to connect all three types of sources. I've got more HDMI cables now than I can shake a stick at.

Cons: Can't really think of any except that it's a lower budget display so it doesn't really have the extra bells and whistles like adjustable stand or speakers or anything, but I'm sure shopping in this price range that is to be expected. I guess it should be noted that the display on the stand does sit kinda low, lower than my previous monitor(s) so I'll be looking at getting an adjustable stand in the future to raise it up a bit.

Overall Review: I've been the owner of several Acer monitors over the years and they have never disappointed me, and you can hardly do better for the price. I ordered three of these babies to go with my new 670 card, none of them have any dead pixels or even any noticeable light bleeding at the edges. One other thing I do have to mention is that when connecting these monitors to an HDMI source, the display is ever so slightly washed out. I'm not sure why, and it might even be the card but not likely. I wouldn't have even noticed if I wasn't using them in a triple monitor configuration. Not a big deal because when using the display port to DVI converter with the other two connected to DVI they all look the same.

Good, but not great

M.M.O. 7 Gaming Mouse Cyborg CCB437130002/04/1 Black 13 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Laser 6400 dpi
M.M.O. 7 Gaming Mouse Cyborg CCB437130002/04/1 Black 13 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Laser 6400 dpi

Pros: A lot of buttons. Highly customizable. Friends are impressed by such a high tech looking device on my desk. Overall pretty comfortable to use once my hand got used to how different this mouse feels compared to others.

Cons: While highly customizable, the placement of some buttons are still difficult to get to. The mouse seems to be designed to use three fingers for each left, middle, and right click. I'm used to using just my index and middle finger for the right and left click, but the spread between the two buttons is too far to comfortably rest my fingers like that, and when I do I frequently mis click the auto lock buttons. So I've gotten used to using my ring finger as the right click and scrolling, middle clicking with the middle finger. This is fine, but that leaves the pinky finger for the shift button but my pinky is way too short to reach it so I just don't use the shift function at all. There's also only one DPI cycle button, rather than DPI up and down buttons on most other mice I've used which makes it a little more difficult to switch on the fly when I really need it (usually entering and exiting vehicles in BF3)

Overall Review: Overall I like this mouse a lot, it felt strange at first, but once I got used to it I liked it a lot. I had been using a Razer naga with the 12 grid buttons on the side, but it started wigging out on me when tracking causing a lot of pain and suffering in game. I like the button placement on this mouse a lot better than the grid on the naga, even tho there are fewer buttons to use. These buttons are easier to hit and find when you need them.

Took a while but they came through

Due to a problem in shipping that wasn't exactly clear how it even happened, it took two weeks to receive my chair. For some reason the chair was shipped to California, when I live in Minnesota. Newedge CS rep did respond very quickly to my email, however and it was corrected as soon as it was discovered. I received the chair in one piece after it was re-routed. I don't feel like I can complain too much because shipping was free and I had already planned on waiting a few extra days for the ground shipping, plus if I had contacted newedge sooner about the mistake I have a feeling it would have not taken so long.
