Will this work with MSI Z370 KRAIT GAMING LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z370 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard?  It says it supports Key M? I can't tell from the description of the drive if it is a Key M.

The Western Digital Blue 3D Nand is an M.2 2280 Drive.

It will fit into the M.2 Slot for sure. I checked and rechecked the MSI Z370 Kriat Gaming LGA Web Page and they Did Not show a list for compatible vendors (For Storage). With that said I would think that this drive would be compatible with that board.

Could you tell me what is included in the kit?

Not sure where you get the word "kit," but all that's included here is the drive. Remember, though, this is a SATA III M.2 SSD, not the faster and more modern NVMe (PCIE) type. Both types use the M.2 format, but they work on different interfaces. WD also makes an NVMe type M.2 SSD, as do many other companies. Make sure you know what you want, and that it is compatible with your hardware.

Question 3

I am upgrading from a 128g to a 500g.  For cloning the new drive, does Acronis clone via the internet or with a USB cable?  If done by cable, does this come with one or do I need a USB cable?

Two methods to do the cloning, can't tell anything about cloning via the internet because I've never done it but I've done it 3 ways: 
1-Original drive in SATA port, then putting the M.2 in a 2.5" USB 3.0 enclosure (via USB cable). 
2-Original drive in SATA port, M.2 drive in 2.5" in SATA enclosure. 
3-Original drive in SATA port, M.2 in M.2 port in MotherBoard.

Acronis is able to recognize the drive all 3 ways, it's a matter of whichever way works best for you, and the easiest.

The drive doesn't come with anything in the box, but when you buy a USB 3.0 enclosure you get a cable and if you buy a M.2 to SATA enclosure, you don't get a SATA cable.

does it have dram ?

with the label peeled, you'll see one or a twin pair of Nanya or Infineon Low-volt DDR3 DRAM chips. They are rectangular. the controller is a single chip, and it's square, often with an Aluminum cap where your cooler goes.

Does this work in a macbook air mid 2013?

You would need a macbook air M.2 converter if you dont use Apples M.2 OEM drive.

Will this work on a ASUS 970 PRO GAMING/AURA AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX AMD Motherboard?

It should work. I've used and tested these M.2 drives on 3 different boards and no issues in any of them. Needless to say that on all 3 occasions I have not had to tweak anything in the BIOS, pretty much a plug n play scenario. 
And in all 3 occasion, the speed has been the same, no issues in dropping the W or R speeds, but then again, those have all been on Intel chipsets, not sure if you'd have to tweak anything in the BIOS for an M.2 drive. Just make sure you get the rated speeds and that would mean your settings are correct, otherwise, you'd have to change or update the BIOS but never try to think the drive is slow because they're not. I have 3 drives (1x M.2 and 2x 2.5") and all 3 have well over 500MB+ for R/W.

Question 7

Will this work on a Gigabyte GA-Z270X-UD3 motherboard? The 1BOB is listed on Gigabytes approved list.

It will definitely work. I installed mine in an Acer laptop. I also have the 1TB 3D version and so far it has work in a Z97 n Z170 boards, both ASUS. 
Sure the WD storage devices are fully compatible with Intel chipsets.

Is this compatible with my Dell Inspiron 7559 ?

Yes, it should work. If you check page 14 of specification it shows you can have a 2.5" drive and one m.2 drive.

Is this ssd compatible with Gigabyte B450 AORUS ?

Check your mobo's manual to see if it will accept this kind of module. As others have noted, if your motherboard will take an nVME module, use it instead of the Seagate for your primary drive. This module can be used just like a SATA3 SSD and is no faster than one.

I might sound dumb but is there a difference between the m.2 2800 and the 2.5" ssd in performance?
