Question 1

In the product overview, images are displayed showing the motherboard mounted to vertically to the side panel allowing for a very open look. Much like how a traditional ATX board would mount in a case. However, looking at the Newegg provided images, the motherboard appears to be mounted on a horizontal tray. How does this motherboard actually mount?

If you look at the 6th image in the gallery for this case you will see that the MOBO mounts horizontally on 4 posts that reside above the PSU compartment (Bottom Back of Case or Left of the Storage Trays).

I like this case the only draw back in my opinion are 2. The left panel (where your GPU card would reside in the PCI slot) could really use some sort of vent holes. The option to install 2 120mm fans on top...yes to the forward slot but there is not enough clearance in the back slot. Otherwise working great for my Mini ITX build.

will a microATX mb fit?

No, a microATX will not fit into this version of the Phenom.

BitFenix makes a different case which looks similar to this one which will fit a microATX.

Be sure you are buying the right version of the Phenom case to fit your desired motherboard as both cases look the same from the outside.

how do you water cool with this case??

up to a 240mm radiator on top and any combination of 120/240/230 radiator in the front(which i woukldnt recommend due to limited air flow from the front. if your just getting a all in one loop cooler with a 120/140 rad, just use the rear exaust cutout

Could someone measure the side panel dimensions for me? I would like to compare the size to the Prodigy side panels to see if they are interchangeable.

Question 5

How large of a power supply will this case capacitate?

All the answers above are false, the phenoms psu area measures 7inches on the dot, you would be only able to fit up to a 6 inch power supply in it with minimal room for the cabling.

Could anyone tell me if the feet are removable?

The plastic feet can be removed but removing them may break the connector that it uses to secure it to the bottom of the case.

Question 7

I'm pretty new to custom PCs(I only popped in a new video card and Power supply into my stock computer.)

It might be obvious but is this a disc tray opening on this case?
If not, Will I have to just suffice with that being an external option?

I really love this case, but I'd like a disc tray.

There is a mounting location at the top of the case for an internal DVD drive. However, there is no opening in the front panel. This mounting comes with an adapter for a 3.5" hard drive. For all intents and purposes, there is no internal 5.25" drive bay.

Really, this is easily solved with an external DVD player. Unless you're ripping a lot of music or watching movies, there is little need for DVD players anymore. This case is pretty cool, and you can load it up with drives.

Wondering if the side panels can be swapped?
Is there clearance for the power,reset, etc. wiring? if you do?

the wiring is pretty low profile. Id say half an inch from the panel itself.  If you switch it to something else you should be alright, the gpu is on the other side of the case, which could provide clearance issues as it is really close tot he wall

It looks like there's an internal 5'25" bay. Is that true? Or was the space just not removed from the last version of this case? If there isn't one, is there a case that anyone can recommend (hopefully by bitfenix)?

Yes, there is a mounting bracket for a 5.25" device. However, you will not be able to use a disc drive properly because the front panel does not provide any cutout for the tray to expand.

The mount will hold your hardware, but there is no way to eject or load the disc externally, save for modding the front panel yourself. A Dremel would cut through the simple plastic panel nicely, I would think.

does this case come with a 5.25 to 3.5 bracket? ?

It has been a few more months than my memory is good for, but I believe it does. I believe the entire contents of the package are available for viewing at both BitFenix and newegg.
