Awesomely fast RAM
Pros: Was paired with a 9900X CPU and MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk mobo. Original kit came in with one stick DOA, but Newegg sent a replacement fairly quickly. Thanks Newegg! Blazing fast RAM with CL28 timing. While I was waiting for a replacement, I had to sub in another set of RAM from another system that had CL30 timings. Comparing the two sets of RAM, the Royal Neo Series definitely felt snappier on the desktop. Comes with a polishing cloth if you ever get fingerprints on the mirror finish of the RAM heat spreaders.
Cons: The mirror finish of the heat spreaders and the crystal LED look may not be to everyone's taste, but I liked it.
Overall Review: I would definitely recommend this RAM for consideration if it is part of the QVL list for your mobo and CPU combination.
Good SSD cooler
Pros: Good SSD cooler with one caveat. Comes with several heat pads of different thickness and even includes a mini screwdriver. Installing a single-sided SSD will have no issues whatsoever.
Cons: If installing a double-sided SSD and you want to use heat pads on both sides, it will be a very tight fit. Kit only comes with one thin heat pad, and two thick heat pads.
Overall Review: Recommended if it works for your usage-case SSD set-up, depending if a single or double-sided NVME stick.
Nice and quiet
Pros: Wanted to keep things simple and stick to air cooling. It is indeed quiet as the name suggests and no issues with keeping my 9900X CPU temperatures under control. The price was right.
Cons: It's big, though did not have issues installing onto a MSI AM5 MAG Tomahawk motherboard.
Overall Review: Recommended for those who want to keep things simple and not having to fiddle with liquid or AIO coolers.
Perfect for my needs
Pros: Had been on 8-core CPU's for the longest time, but I found that I was multi-tasking more and more. This CPU fit the bill and it was a noticeable speed bump over my old 5800X. It was a nice middle ground as the next level up, 9950X, was beyond my budget. Plenty good enough for gaming also. Power efficiency is still good enough to stick to air cooling.
Cons: Doesn't have 3D cache, but wasn't really a factor for me as I don't concentrate solely on gaming anymore. Needs an AM5 motherboard which are still a bit pricey. It would not make sense to pair this CPU with a low-end AM5 board.
Overall Review: Highly recommended if you want to game and do light productivity work at the same time.
Simple and easy to set up
Pros: Chose this motherboard, compared to others, for the SSD and PCIE port layout. It has lots of USB/USB-C ports and has 5G LAN vs 2.5G. Good board layout and everything was simple to install even when using a large air cooler. Paired it with a 9900X CPU and it was a nice operational improvement over my old AM4 5800X system.
Cons: BIOS is not as feature rich nor a slick as those from ASUS and Gigabyte. If you want to avoid the bloatware, disable the automatic software install. M2_2 SSD slot is shared with USB4 ports so speed is reduced when sharing or you can disable one or the other in BIOS to get full lanes for one or the other. Only 4 SATA ports, but admittedly I have been reducing hard drives due to higher capacities HD's being available.
Overall Review: Recommended AM5 board that has plenty of features that is not ridiculously expensive like the top level boards that don't offer much more features than this board.
Great low power CPU!
Pros: Got this to replace a Ryzen 5600 system. Noticeable speed increase and runs cooler too. Using it mostly for video file playback and it doesn't chug on 8K or high bit-rate 4K content. Got it on sale so the price was right. A good option for a starter gaming PC.
Cons: Prices for AM5 CPU's can be found discounted recently, but AM5 motherboards are still a bit on the pricey side.
Overall Review: If you can afford to jump onto the AM5 platform, definitely consider this CPU if budget is a consideration.
