Good Product
Pros: Really good construction good build quailty
Cons: Only thing I don't like is that you need two power cables for upper two and lower two HDD's.I have a brand that one power cable power all four HDD's. It's no biggie but why?
Overall Review: As far as the fans go the first thing I did when I opened the package was disconnect the two fan cables don't need a fan for SSD or do I use the fans on my other brand enclosure that I use in my Media Center PC. A laptop have a lot less air moving across the HDD,s these do without a fan connected. I use HDTune to check temps and never ever had a temp above 97 degree on any of the HDD's
Not fully Vista 64Bit compatible
Pros: Quiet,Run cool thats about all the Pros I can think of.Oh nice heat sink
Cons: This Certified for Windows Vista and Vista compatiable rating system they need to make clear to costumers what that really means.Yes this card do work in Vista and Vista 64 Bit.But it KILLS YOUR MEDIA CENTER (LIVE TV AUDIO) AND THERE IS NO FIX FOR IT AT THIS TIME.My old Gigabyte 6600GT work great in Vista 64 bit but is not HDCP Ready but scored a higher score in Vista 64 Bit. I'm gonna RMA it back to Newegg
Overall Review: Like I said it will work in Vista but it kills your aodio in your Media Center on live TV.i'm using the Hauppauge WinTV PVR 500 tune card.and the 64bit drivers for the Hauggpauge is way better then MCE 2005 32 bit the PIC don't look washed out as with the 32Bit MCE2005
First time for everything
Pros: Runs nice and stable no issue at all. Can't beat this stuff at any price.
Cons: I bought two sets for a total of 16 gigs. But for some reason I to had one stick that was bad right out of the box. I used to use kingston and crucial 6 years ago until I bought my first set of G.Skill and never looked back. This is my first experience with a bad stick but there's a First time for everything. Newegg took care of it right away.
Overall Review: I use this in a Mac Pro (Hackintosh) running Lion on a 2.53 GHZ Xeon quad core cpu clocked at 2.85 on a Intel MicroATX mobo over clocked without any issues. I even did a clean install with it at the present settings.
Hackintosh Lion
Pros: Its fan less and it operate cool in my Micro ATX DesignLab case. Works in my Hackintosh Lion great.
Cons: Im not a fan of the (Fermi) chipset. On my Snow Leopard Hackintosh build I would get freeze up from time to time. Now in ISO Lion I have no problems at all with this card. Been using it for a 2 months without any problems
Overall Review: I like it more now then I did in SN
Great Hackintosh Board
Pros: Super EZ Bios Flash very good quality onboard bluetooth E-sata Not a single problem with this board
Cons: Only problem is I bought the Intel DP55wb from Newegg 3 days before I found this one on another site for a lot less. and the DP55WB is supposed to be a good Hackintosh board. But this one have a LOT more features on it and is FAR FAR more OSX friendly. NOT ONE KEXT PANIC since I installed SN
Overall Review: OSX work flawless on this Board and here the good part. Im using a Intel Xeon Quad X3440 2.53GHZ with Hyper Threading and OSX picked up all 8 cores and the cpu cost only 239 bucks on Newegg. I install SL on 3 other brand mobo and by far this board works the best, I even tried to cause a kext panic and it still booted SL 10.7.6 every time. To keep cool in my Micro ATX case I use the Corsair all in one water cooling. with and cheap Sparkel fanless 9600GT video card. Waiting on my Fanless GTS 460 to get here to install it.
What is going on?
Pros: No Pros at all
Cons: There is something VERY WRONG HERE. I have a cheap 32GB ADATA That beats the pants off this thing. I ran HDTune on both of these as a slave drive and the 32GB ADATA numbers are far better. Now I have another OCZ 40GB that beats the pants off both of them.
Overall Review: Im sending this back for another better but smaller 40GB.
