Gets the job done
Pros: I purchased this because I needed the quickest, cheapest, dirtiest way to get the largest amount of space on to one volume. This drive was one of the three I was considering. I went with this one because it was the closest match to what I was looking for in this price range. The only thing it didn't have was 32MB Ram which for the price is understandable. *Newegg processed, shipped, and delivered this in a respectable time frame. *The drive itself came in Fat32 so I could use it for both MAC and PC, which was my original intention. *The formatting was easy enough as well and took no time. *The power cord wasn't dinky and short. It was also a standard power supply and is easily replaceable unlike some of the other drives out here. *I transferred well over 1 Terabyte of information one place to another and left it on overnight. It kept a moderately warm temp but wasn't too bad. *Open grille on front maintains temp. *Quiet *Transfer speeds are sufficient *Dual interface (US
Cons: *Casing and Logo was slightly scratched upon arrival. *LED is only one color, bright blue, and doesn't really do much for functionality besides let you know it's on or transferring. Some drives have multi-color LED indicators. On a similar note, the light is pretty bright, but I'd rather have it be so, than too dim. *Housing design is pretty bland and boring, but again, for the price, it gets the job done. I paid for the space, not the appearance.
Overall Review: I was looking for a drive that I could use a "coverall" drive for everything I currently own, which includes: mac os x internal, windows xp internal, windows vista internal, and 3 external hard drives. My goal was to find a drive I could partition 3 ways, back up for mac stuff (Extended-Journaled), back up for PC stuff (NTFS), and Miscellaneous free space (Fat32). This drive does just that with minimal effort. All operating systems I used this drive with detected it with no issues. The only thing I'm not sure about and have been too lazy to determine is whether or not this eSATA drive is "eSATA" or "eSATA 2," and we all know that's an important thing to know...
"Unknown Device" in Windows 7
Pros: Some drives detect but...
Cons: ...regardless of the drivers on the included CD or the support site, there is still an "unknown device" in the device manager.
Mixed feelings
Pros: Micro ATX, function, able to work with all of my components.
Cons: I/O plate was terrible to work with. Perhaps deformed? Not able to fit Micro ATX I/O slot.
Thumbs up
Pros: Would have worked great. Price. Function.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Returned as it wasn't needed
Works quite well
Pros: Works quite well with Airport Extreme. Fast. Well ventilated.
Cons: No complaints.
Overall Review: Had to call ISP to list MAC address on my account before it would work.
Looked like it would work
Pros: Appropriate size for Micro ATX. Enough power to sustain "heavy" load system.
Cons: Needed a bit more in terms of connectors. Had to buy some adapters.
