Board runs great!
Pros: I bought this board based on the number of SATA 3 ports. The extra I/O's didn't interest me due to the 'newness' of the technology. If you know what you need and want to stick to a price point, the board is a good choice.
Cons: I have two issues: 1. It would have been nice to have a 2.0 4x or 8x slot instead of the 2x slot. 2. The TB2 port is basically useless due to the inability of Azrock and Intel to certify the adapter card.
Overall Review: My requirements for a computer are vastly different than most users posting here. I use my systems for Editing HD and 4K video. It is about performance not looks. I felt that this board was well made, especially for the price point. I usually upgrade my boards once a year. Many of the complaints I have read about this board are either aesthetically related or created from not reading the manual or first doing your homework. This board installed easily and has been rock solid since the installation over a month ago. I installed the latest bios for the Devils Canyon chip and off I went. It is coupled with 32gb of ram, a GTX 780 that is overclocked and a 4790K running at 4.7Ghz. with a Samsung 850 pro. Idle temps on this buid are 32C with a Corsair H110. This is despite the complaint from a user that couldn't install a 140mm fan and radiator. I have 2 140mm fans and a 280mm radiator installed. Not the board's fault. There is over 25tb of drive space connected to the Intel controller and Asmedia controllers and I have yet to see a burp. I would have preferred the TB2 option to be gone and a 4x or 8x PCI-E 2.0 slot added instead of the 2x slot. Overall, this is a good medium priced board.
Overall, a very flexible mobo
Pros: So far it is working well. Still trying to get the undervolting sweet spot. This is the second board. I had to RMA it do to the Channel A memory slots not working. Asrock helped quite a bit in narrowing down the issue. Newegg was excellent in handling the entire RMA process.
Cons: It could have a few more USB 2.0 headers. Step by step undervolting instructions would be helpful.
Overall Review: I paid $324 for the board and it is worth it. The original price of $528 was way out of line. For that pricebI would have gone with an ROG board.
