Can you keep it on the color red forever? I mean is there an option for it to stay put on one color without it changing?

Its really simple, you take a molex connector from the power supply and connect it to the molex connect of the wirless transmittor that comes in the box, you then only have to plug in the LED strips to the trasnmittor and its good to go, took me less then a minute.

Does the transformer/antenna unit go inside the computer case?

You can mount either way. The wires that come off of it can be run through to outside of case if u like. I stuck mine to the back of my case an ran the led strips and ir receiver to the inside and worked them against side corners of the case. For the ir receiver i stuck it thru a hole where normally external water cooler tubes would run into the case. I keep the inside as clean as possible. I did have one of my strips go bad after only 3 months. One of the colors went out but hinestly I only use the blue one which is still good.

This is a pretty solid product. It does all that is stated and goes thru all the different colors with a neat little remote. All the 3m tape has held on nicely to my corsair carbide air 540 except for the one mounted to the top. I have to use electrical tape to hold it up on the top but I have had this installed for a little over a year now so I guess it is excuseable since all the other led strips have stuck on. I am not sure why some other people have had so much trouble with the tape, but I assume they didnt properly prep the surface that it was going to be stuck to.

I will say that the connectors that attach the led strips to the control modules are SUPER jenky. Well...at least some are. Some of the connectors fit together snug and proper where others can literally come unplugged with a slight breeze xD Not a huge problem as I just electrical taped the connectors together.

Also, one of the LED strips had a short since some of the connector was left exposed out of the clear waterproofing stuff that wraps the LEDS. Took me a bit to figure out why the colors werent changing on that specific strip but once I put, once again, some electrical tape where it was contacting bare metal all was fine.

I was able to put two sets of these together and now I am able to control the color of one set of LED strips independently of the other set! All with one remote. You just need to keep the IR (or whatever) sensors far enough apart and point it directly at where you have the sensor. Really cool.

All in all, for 17 dollars these LEDS are:

Pros:
-Super Bright
-Change colors
-Have a remote
-Daisy Chainable
-CHEAP, so buy a couple xD
-Decent tape unless stuck upside down (and as long as you properly prep the surface they are to be stuck to!)

Cons:
-Miserable connectors
-Possibly spotty construction.

Buy these, they are cheap and work. You might need to do some DIY solutions but for the price you cant beat it.

The images show two strips, do you get two or just one of them?

You get two strips, a remote, and a power converter.  I wasnt able to get the power converter working through the computers power but it did work with a wall plug in.  The wall plug in however was not included.

How does this work? Can I put these lights in any case?

Accepted Answer

Yes. They have peel and stick backs, or you can tie them up wherever you want in your case. All you need is a molex connector. It has an infrared receiver for the remote you can tie up wherever you want, too.

If you want my opinion on them too- They're super bright; you can set it to stay on a single color, pulsate on any color, pulsate and switch between all colors, or stay on and switch between all colors. Been using them for about a year now, and love them.

It uses a 4 pin Molex that connects to the provided control box and from there a proprietary (2x) 4 pin connector that plug into the strips.

Can you have the breathing effect with a single color?  Like say blue getting brighter and then darker?  From the way it reads, it sounds as if the breathing effect switches colors.

No, this kit does not have a breathing effect for a single color. That would be awesome though.

Can these eoutput UV, or is that going to be a specific type of led strip?

No uv output. I believe specific strip.  Sry bud.  But these have worked great for me. the controller is a bit on the cheap side, but other then that they are still going strong after 6 months.

Question 10

Are these LEDs compatible with my Gigabyte mobo "Ambient LED" software? Will I be able to control the LEDs from my computer or only from the remote?

They should fit you Gigabyte mobo with no problems and should have no issue with any software.  I have been only able to use the remote to control the LEDs.  The only problem I have with them is that sometimes they are on and some times they are not.  As a matter of fact, when I turn on my computer I really don't expect they to come on and I am usually right.  I have been inside my system and everything is connected so the problem is probably in the LED strip.  I'm not saying they are all bad but the one I have has problems.  If you purchase this strip you may not have any problems at all.  I'm sure you will have no software conflict because there is no software involved and no special hookup so your mobo should handle it just fine.
