The title says it converts to Displayport to HDMI, but the picture clearly shows that it converts hdmi to displayport. Which is it?

I think you are misinterpreting the picture. This is definitely a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, not the other way around. The DP end plugs into the device you want to display from. You use the HDMI end to connect your HDMI cable up to monitor, TV or projector you want you display though.
