Is a lighting controller needed to fully utilize the addressable rbg functions of this fan?

Yeah I've made the mistake of purchasing 4 fans as a "single" pack. Make sure you get the "duel pack" or the "triple pack" (anything other than the single pack) because it comes with the "iCUE Lighting Node CORE". You'll need that to utilize the addressable rbg functions. If you want to control your fan's speed as well you'll need the "Commander Pro" but the commander pro just controls fan speeds and rgb LED lighting strips.

I have Asus motherboard with Aurora sync, will this fan's RGB work with it?

No it won't. And if you do corsair will void the warranty. Even though none of the included documentation tells you that. Trying to get help from corsairs smug "customer service" is useless. Choose another brand.

How much power does the fan draw not including the RGB; as they are on separate cables?

I wouldn't know, the fan died and corsair doesn't honor their warranty. Buy another brand.
