Crucial to gaming rigs
Pros: -Faster access for gaming -Ability to multi task smoothly -Cl16 @1.2v so plenty of headroom for overclocking -Heat spreaders to help dissipate heat when under stress -aesthetically pleasing
Cons: - Heat spreaders may not fit into the slot on certain laptops where the memory is stacked on top of one another. - not all laptops support xmp profile, so you end up running at a slower speed than 2666
Overall Review: This memory served a dual purpose for me, it replaced slow factory ram and also doubled my memory. This allows me to have better performance gaming and also allows me to multitask when working. Once i set the xmp profile in the bios I was rocking away, overclocking headroom is decent but my laptop already runs hot so I did not want increase the heat output. Overall this ram works as stated and allows for a much smoother operations.
Mediocre at best
Pros: - Ease of setup aided by quick start guide, which helps get you up and running within minutes for all the basic setups. More advanced settings do take more time. - Very fast, even faster than my two semi-older routers which advertised similar speeds - EnShare Mobile app allows you to access your USB files on the go - 4 Gigaport ports that allow you to hard wire devices right to the router
Cons: While this router is very fast and does reach the advertised speeds, it lacks the ability to extend the range of its signal very far. This model is supposed to be the extended range where it will enhance the signal so it can go farther. But my testing shows that it often dropped the signal before its enhanced and thus causes a lot of dropped packets and frustration. This of course is under the 2.4 Ghz band and the 5Ghz band does seem to hold a strong signal the further away you go from the router. Security settings right out of the box are similar to other routers and as another user mentioned I too would prefer to set up my security settings before setting up the network, but the router does not allow it. I am in an area where there are multiple wireless networks and always someone looking to try and get on a unsecured network so this is no good. We should be able to set up the basic security levels and passwords to the router without having to be on a set network at the time. I am also disappointed in the mobile app for accessing the files you may have stored on a USB drive. This app is suppose to grant access on any mobile device, but, in reality it depends on what phone or device you have as well as weather or not the app recognizes your router or vice-versa. The few times I tried getting it to work I would get an error message saying device not connected, and when it did connect the files could not be found. The USB files, however can be accessed from any computer that is hardwired right to the router, but is restricted to read only. I played around with the settings but could not save any files to the USB drive, I could only access them. Whats the point of having an external device if you cannot write to it only read? Testing this router has been great, and while the speed is the only plus it is not enough for me to recommend it to anyone
Overall Review: I have always owned Netgear routers and as technology changed I upgraded to the newest best thing. Unfortunately, Netgear has been a bit of a let down lately so when I had the chance to try this router I gave it a go. In terms of its speed and throughput, this EnGenious router can hold its own when compared to many other routers that claim high speeds but can barely deliver them. When speed is of the essence, this router is a gem... My old router, a Netgear WNDR4700 offered gigabit speeds but fell short on delivery. Although, the extended range it offered was unparalleled, I could go to the end of our property which is 2+ acres and still have a strong signal. With this EnGenious router I had great speed and throughput, but lacked the extended range and distance it advertised. I could be just outside the house of the room the router was in and I would lose signal briefly before the signal is enhanced and even then the further away I go the lower quality the signal got until I would lose the signal entirely. The distance and signal was tested and verified on multiple devices: Four laptops, 9 cell phones, 5 tablets, and my cellular network hub which creates a mini cell tower within ones home. Each device was set up differently and to handle various functions so I can fully test the router.
Low cost upgrade
Pros: *Cheap and fast * Reliable, has a lifetime warranty * Can easily be overclocked...see con* * Increased frame rates in games * Increased productivity
Cons: * Slim profile means thinner heat spreaders that barely help when pushed to its limits and need fan assistance in staying cool,. Especially when overclocking. * No LED lights * latency isn't the greatest and there's little room for improvements.
Overall Review: First off, this is decent ram for the price and performance increase. Most people will get this as they only have 8Gb and want an upgrade. With today's heavy ram intensive programs 32Gb is becoming the standard for decent performance. This Ram offers that increased performance in a budget. It's speeds are true to its claim, and it has increased my performance a bit. I also got increased frame rate in Assasins Creed which is what I'm currently replaying for nostalgia sake. One area this memory helps excel in is productivity, it allows programs to open faster and you can do more at the same time than with lesser memory of similar capacity and speeds. This also looks real sleek in my all black case .
basic features at a premium price
Pros: - Simple to install - Allows up to 5 PC installations - Relative easy to use interface - Doesn't slow system down nor does it use a lot of memory
Cons: - Product key could not be revealed by scratching with a coin, I had to peel it off because it was so thick - Time consuming to set up all the features - requires you to install extensions on ALL browsers - Constantly reminds you to install features you have not set up - Requires Credit Card for Auto renewal
Overall Review: while this product is great and has instantly shown me my info on the dark web, so has Google. google informed me of all info on the dark web for free. where as this is paid for and doesn't offer you ways to remove it without buying more features. Norton's premium features should be basic for any Windows user, but they want you to pay for it. Now I love Norton because of these same features, I just don't condone the scare tactics that follow if you choose to not renew, so much so that all your info it tied into their program and can be a hassle to remove upon uninstallation. Aside from my quips with the program, it does keep me protected and alerts me in real time to any threats it comes across or Issues I get myself into. So Norton is keeping it 100 in terms of protection. I would recommend this to others based solely on its protection features alone, just be patient setting it up and it will keep you secure.
Best of the best
Pros: I built a whole new system just to utilize this bad boy. My old system supported 3.0 just fine, but I wanted this to run at its full speed hence thew build which also allowed me to upgrade everything. This paired with Intels newest 12th gen processors and the right motherboard and its a powerhouse workforce. Consistently hits the read and write speeds, allows my PC to fast boot in less than 10 seconds. The beefy stock cooler radiates the heat away and keeps the Temps down, it can also be removed carefully if your mobo has sufficient cooling for it.
Cons: Stock cooler can interfere with graphics card. Some motherboards have set 4.0 and 3.0 slots so moving to another slot may not be an option if one wants to utilize the full speed. This stock cooler also has a hefty weight to it which can cause issues depending how and where its mounted.
Overall Review: Overall I am super happy with this drive, it has allowed me to upgrade and get with the times of faster read and write speeds. One thing is I did remove the stock heat sink after running test, my motherboard is the Gigabyte Auorus AX and the stock cooler is plenty sufficient. Doing this allowed me to use the 4.0 slot to take full advantage of its speed
Great QLC drive
Pros: Top notch when it comes to QLC drives and its performance. Intel has figured out the right combination of speed
Cons: Needs Intels 11 Gen processor or newer to take full advantage of its speed. Can be a bit of a pain to get it to be recognized by the system upon first I stall.
Overall Review: Overall I am very pleased and happy with this drive. Since It is faster than my os drive, and being that it's a Quad Layer drive I switched my OS to this drive as its best for read intensive workloads and my secondary TLC drive is now my drive for all my games since it can handle more write intensive applications. Thus allowing me to utilize both drives to their maximum potential and adhering to their longev6.
