Running at 3600 with Ryzen 3900X and X570 MB

Pros: Got it running and stable at 3600 speeds with a Ryzen 9 3900X. Great price for 32GB

Cons: It took some time to manually tweek the timings to get it to run at the rated speeds. XMP does not work on my ASUS Tuf X570 motherboard. However, I kind of expected that not to work as these were probably designed for Intel. So this isn't much of a Con.

Works with Ryzen at tighter timings and lower speeds

Pros: - Tighter timings than advertised if you take the time to tinker

Cons: - Won't run at XMP settings on AMD systems

Overall Review: Ryzen 5 2600 / Asus B350-F Strix board and I run these at 16-18-18-38 at 1.35V stable with memtest86. I expect that I could tighten the timings further, but just haven't had the time to test it.

So far I am impressed with Newegg.

Pros: So far I am impressed with the product had no issues with install and the process of ordering and shipping has been slightly better than standard! 4.5 stars.

Cons: The Bios has to be manually updated to deal with the DDR4 with XLR programming. Not sure if that is a RAM issue or just a MB issue.

Overall Review: Could have been a little bit less expensive....but market rate is about where everything is at anymore. AT least it isn't a rip off like Corsair!

Hi Bruce

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Good to hear the buying experience was good and the product works as advertised. This is an extreme performance memory kit so it is best to have the latest BIOS for maximum results. DDR4-3600 is not supported by any system so typically updates are necessary. As far as pricing, if you compare the specifications to another brand, G.Skill is better and cheaper so you can not go wrong. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you for choosing G.SKILL

Excellent ram, even for Ryzen!

Pros: Works great!
Hynix CJR
Dual Rank

Cons: None? The heatsink doesn't seem to be making full contact with all the memory IC's, but it hasn't caused any issues.

Overall Review: If you're buying this to just run the default XMP profile on a Ryzen system, you're doing it wrong. The XMP profile might work on a Ryzen 3000 cpu, but those are still just over a month out, so for the time being, you'll have to manually enter timings and drop your speed. It's Hynix CJR dual rank, so the ryzen ram calculator works pretty well, but gave me looser timings in some instances than a post on reddit.
Currently running a Ryzen 1600 @ 4.05GHz on an Asus X470 Strix-F and this kit runs great @ 3333 14-18-18-28 1T 1.395V. I used the timings verbatim from "hynix_cjr_looks_great_very_close_to_bdie_presets" (you'll have to google that, newegg won't let me post links)
I believe with a stronger IMC (perhaps Ryzen 3000???) 3466c14 should be no problem, and the higher speed cas 16 options might be interesting too!

Good RAM with lots of OC potential

Pros: - So far it runs stable at 3200MHz 15-15-15-36 on Ryzen or Intel machines

Cons: - Doesn't look like this will get to 3200Mhz C14, though the 16Gb kits (8x2) will

Overall Review: This will run at 3200MHz C16 easily (if not faster), making it good in-between RAM for people using a Ryzen 2xxx today and moving to a 3xxx later.

Doesn't set at 3600mhz

Pros: Was less money

Cons: Doesn't run at 3600mhz

Overall Review: 9900k Z390 Maxiumus XI Code MB, bought 64GB to upgrade my older 3000mhz to 3600mhz and the price was really low. Set the Bios to 3600mhz and the Bios would not have it, it would only boot the Bios in safe mode at 2133mhz.

I am not trying to put it down, but it would not run at 3600mhz on and intel machine.

Hi Timothy

We can help clarify some confusion. This is a 32GB kit, and by adding an additional kit into the same system, there is no guarantee both can operate at the rated specifications DDR4-3600 C19. For guaranteed results, a single matching kit such as F4-3600C19Q-64GVRB is necessary. By using two separate kits, the user is responsible for testing maximum capability. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

This set works great in my AMD Ryzen 7 1700 rig

Pros: - Very cheap for the capacity and achieved speed
- Wrapping is not destroyed when unpacked, so you can test and return if not compatible with your rig without feeling like a depressing should-have-been-aborted excuse for a sack of DNA (which Newegg forced me to write, because the word starting with "d" and ending with "ouche" is unacceptable.)

Cons: - Slightly slower than advertised on my AMD rig (3466 MHz)

Overall Review: I didn't buy mine on Newegg, as I'm Danish, but I did come here later to verify that I made the right decision to order these while waiting for them to come back in stock for my order to be sent. And it was on here that I found several other AMD users complaining about the advertised speeds being unobtainable by a long shot. I then found out, on G.Skill's site, that these sticks are actually sold as "Intel compatible," a piece of info not advertised anywhere from the price aggregator or seller that I purchased from.

I decided to give them a try anyway, because they're so ridiculously cheap in comparison to other similarly rated sticks, and I had just built a rig for my nephew with a Ryzen 7 1700 on an ASRock B350 mITX with also ridiculously cheap 16GB SniperX 3600 sticks set that ended up running perfectly stable (24-hour Prime95) at 3466 MHz, which I felt was really good on this budget mobo. Also, in Denmark we have excellent buyer's protection, so no matter what I could return them within 14 days and get my money back.

I'm actually running the B450 version of the same motherboard, that is the "ASRock B450 Gaming-ITX/ac," but AFAICT it's identical to the B350, except for the chipset bump. I don't know it these boards are just better than those used by the other AMD users here that can't get these sticks to perform properly, but in my case, I'm looking at the exact same scenario as with my nephew's build: 3600 MHz is not stable, but 3466 MHz is now 24-hour Prime95 stress test stable (running Heaven benchmark simultaneously in an endless loop to test my PSU and "case" thermals (case in quotation marks because my case is actually an IKEA "PS" TV stand tortured with drills and chicken wire and an Onkyo amplifier as a companion to the rig :D)).

Part of me wants to deduct a point for me not getting that advertised 3600 MHz, but then again, I'm sporting a Ryzen 7 1700 AMD rig, not an Intel one, and 32GB of 3466 MHz DDR4 at this price is just fantastic, so I really want to give those five "eggs." I am very pleased.

So, again, maybe my mileage just varied differently by luck from those other AMD users knowingly or unknowingly taking a chance on "Intel certified" memory sticks. Perhaps it's the B450 chipset which AFAIK supports higher "standard" memory speeds, and with that perhaps is also more stable with these overclocked sticks, or maybe these ASRock mini-ITX "gaming" boards are just really good. They're definitely not very expensive.

ANYWAY. I hope that you can use this AMD user's positive experience with these sticks. I'm happy that I chose to keep my order even after finding out that it was for "Intel-designed" memory, especially considering that the price has risen $30 since I got them :D If you need any more info, let me know :)
