I see this unit plays CD+G discs. Does it also operate with regular music on CD discs? If so, I realize that the screen would not be functioning, but will the pulsating lights still be working along with the regular CD inflections? Also, can you sing along with the regular CD vocals by using the microphones, and have your voice added and amplified by the system? I am asking because it would be going into a facility where it would also have to serve as the facilities regular CD player.

Yes it plays regular CDs and the screen acts like a disc menu.  And yes, the mics work regardless of whether anything is playing or not with each having its own power / volume control as well as a power switch on the mic itself.  The lights can be turned on and off at will with their own switch -whether they actually pulsate to the music is debatable, but they put on quite a show.  It also plays DVDs right on the screen which has come in handy more than once.
