Raspberry Pi M. 2 HAT+
The Raspberry Pi M. 2 HAT+ enables you to connect M. 2 peripherals such as NVMe drives and AI accelerators to Raspberry Pi 5s PCIe 2.0 interface, supporting fast (up to 500 MB/s) data transfer to and from NVMe drives and other PCIe accessories.
Raspberry Pi 5s single-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface is exposed on a 16-pin, 0.5 mm- pitch FPC connector; the M. 2 HAT+ M Key is a mechanical adapter board that converts between this connector and a subset of the M. 2 standard. It supports devices that have the M. 2 M key edge connector, in the 2230 and 2242 form factors. It is capable of supplying up to 3A to connected M. 2 devices.
Raspberry Pi AI Kit
The Raspberry Pi AI Kit bundles the Raspberry Pi M. 2 HAT+ with a Hailo AI acceleration module for use with Raspberry Pi 5. It provides an accessible, cost-effective, and power- efficient way to integrate high-performance AI.
The AI module is a 13 tera-operations per second (TOPS) neural network inference accelerator built around the Hailo-8L chip. The module uses the M. 2 2242 form factor, and comes pre-installed in the M. 2 HAT+, to which it connects through an M key edge connector. The M. 2 HAT+ communicates between the AI modules M. 2 interface and the Raspberry Pi 5s PCIe 2.0 interface.
