Extremely efficient!!

Phanteks PH-TC14PE 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler
Phanteks PH-TC14PE 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: I'm using the Intl i7 960 Quad-Core 3.2GHz Running everyday computing tasks (emial, 'net, Office, etc) my core temps are right at 95-100 deg.F after 4 straight hours of operation (ambient room temp was ~68 deg.F). Running BF3 on Ultra settings for 3 straight hours yielded ~127 deg.F Very nice performance I must say.

Cons: Since this is the first heatsink of its kind that I've installed, the construction process was a bit involved. And putting it all together really did feel like I was constructing it, not just assembling it. I did have to refer to the instructions several times for this one. And BIG! It comes with two 140mm fans, one in the middle and one on one of the outer sides. The manual does tell you that you can install a third fan if you desire and even has the mounting clips for it...but why not just have three fans in the package then? For the money paid, a third fan would have been nice.

Overall Review: This heatsink covers 2 of my six DIMM slots as they are too close to the CPU socket. While this was not unexpected as I did my research prior to purchase, I still wish MoBo manufacturers would relocate the DIMM slots further away from the CPU socket.

Unbelievable

AllComponents 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model AC2/800X64/4096-KIT

Pros: It worked for 36 days.

Cons: It didn't work after 36 days.

Overall Review: I read the other reviews on this memory before I bought it and decided that although they weren't favorable, the price was right. Now the system is entirely out of commission until AVANT (AllComponants) feels like getting back to me. I call their 800 # and get a REAL LIVE person "Jordon" every time - which is great. But Payton is the guy that takes care of the Newegg purchases and he hasn't returned my emails. :( I guess I'm just gonna have to buy more ans then whenever AVANT rma's my broken down ram then I'll just have to sell them on (that unmentionable auction web site). Lesson Learned: 1) READ the reviews and take heed!!! 2) (That unmentionable auction web site) is good for something. 3) I still love Newegg.

XFX Double D FX-797A-TDBC Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
XFX Double D FX-797A-TDBC Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: They Usual... great card, looks good, works great blah blah blah... keep reading

Cons: 1) the card only comes with one mini-display port adapter and it's a PASSIVE adapter($2 piece of junk). You WILL need an ACTIVE adapter if you are using three displays (or simply an display that has Display Port out). 2) If you are not getting the FPS you expect, more likely than not it is due to your CPU being the bottle neck. Safely overclock your CPU and you'll see your in-game FPS increase big time! 3) If you install these cards, and go through all of the Catalyst Controls and still only get two out of three monitors working, DON"T listen to tech support and do a fresh install of windows onto a spare hard drive to check the hardware. Simply reinstall Catalyst Control Center. 4) This card JUST came out, and the drivers on the disc that comes with it are already useless. Download the "RC11" drivers from support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/RC11Driver.aspx

Overall Review: Now that I've got all three 24" monitors pushing 5760x1080 my in-game FPS for BF3 is between 40 and 125. And yes they stay VERY cool (in BF3 I'm at approx 74 C Specs: Asus P6T7 WS SuperComputer Intel i7 960 3.2 (oc'd 4.4GHz) Phantec 140mm Heatsink (monster) 16GB Corsair memeroy Antec 1200w PSU Heaven 2.5 Benchmark Scores: Settings: 1920x1080 Settings: 1920x1080 Shaders High Shaders High Textures High Textures High Filter Trilinear Filter Trilinear Anisotropy: 4x Anisotropy: 16x Tessellation Normal Tessellation Extreme Results: Results: FPS = 102.3 FPS = 100.9 Score = 2576 Score = 2541 Min FPS = 34.8 Min FPS = 39.4 Max FPS = 243.3 Max FPS = 256

Pros: I just got off the phone w/ Corsair.... my issues were a memory timing problem between the stock motherboard settings and the recommended timing of my Corsair Vengeance ram. These cards are still awesome !!!

Cons: Problem solved

Overall Review: Check to make sure your MoBo isn't reducing the timing under it's default settings. You may need to manually adjust that.

Darn Good Board

ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer "Ultimate Gamer" choose 3Way SLI + PhysX at Real X16 X58 CEB Intel Motherboard
ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer "Ultimate Gamer" choose 3Way SLI + PhysX at Real X16 X58 CEB Intel Motherboard

Pros: As with any high end MoBo, you're gonna pay. This board is no different. There is no need for an IDE port on this board, leaving more room for other goodies. Installation was typical with no difficulties. Not mentioned anywhere in my pre-purchase research was the awesome feature of creating a bar which has the posts on it for the front panel led lights and switches. The wires that lead from the front panel attached to this block in the typical fashion, but once you get those small wire ends attached to the block, you then take the entire block and attach it to the motherboard. GONE are the days of flash lights and needle nose pliers trying to get those little wires all properly attached. I know it sounds like a very minor thing, but it made my installation much easier in regards to those front panel wires. The BIOS features are profound. There are a lot of options, and I haven't even gotten to them all yet. Very well thought out board.

Cons: The only real concern I have are the two closest DIMM sockets to the CPU socket. With the utilization of larger and bulkier Heatsinks, the Manufacturers of Motherboards need to consider how close they are putting DIMM slots to that area the heatsink will encompass. In my case, I've purchased the Phanteks PH-TC14PE 140mm CPU cooler. This monster leaves no room to install ram in the closest two DIMMs. How hard would it be to relocate the DIMM's to say.... the bottom right edge of the board where the SATA slots are, and vice versa? It probably is a major undertaking. One that motherboard manufacturers are probably not ready to tackle.

Overall Review: The board comes with a lot of nice extras; plenty of SATA/Power combo cables, regular SATA cables and the like.

Rosewill R6422-P BK Black SGCC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Rosewill R6422-P BK Black SGCC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Laid out very nicely. Has nice fan ports to place a 120mm in front bottom and 120mm on side panel.

Cons: Opened the box and removed styrophome to discover something rattling around. When I opened the case I found two of the six retaining clips that hold the front panel on broken off. The two at the top and two at the bottom were ok and held the face plate on ok.

Overall Review: I purchase 2 of these cases; one in black and one in silver. They both came in black. The one that was supposed to be silver was all black with silver trim on the face plate. Don't buy this one.
