ASUS has done it again
Pros: So much to do that I don't even know what to do! Awhile back (LGA-1366) I had an EVGA Classified board and swore up and down that EVGA was number 1 Well along came LGA 2011 and I decided I Would give ASUS another go with the RAMPAGE IV and wow was I missing out. Well I was browsing newegg and saw that LGA 2011-3 had been released and I knew that I had to take the plunge. This motherboard has got so many bells and whistles. There are so many different options and ASUS has made the interface so easy a chimp could overclock this computer. For everyone out there that loves to overclock and have complete control and be able to monitor every aspect this board is for you. Even if you're not that familiar with overclocking you can use this board with the pre-set overclocks that ASUS includes in the BIOS.
Cons: The first PCI-Ex16's release clip is very difficult to push because of the heatsink right above it. My fat fingers couldn't fit to push it all the way down so I accidentally ended up breaking it off when I tried to take out my GTX 780. As with all bleeding edge technology there are a few bugs here and there. Nothing new and nothing a few BIOS revisions won't fix.
Overall Review: I really wish they would stop with the sideways SATA connectors and make them vertical so I could plug them in easier but that's just a small small small complaint and not worth knocking an egg off.
Does it's job
Pros: There's not much to be said, It's RAM and it does it's job. This is just the beginning of DDR4. DDR4 RAM is expected to hit speeds of 4000Mhz in the future so this is just a stepping stone RAM for me. I will probably overclock a little bit in the future but right now this works good for me and will probably work good for you too.
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: Doesn't have as cool of heatsink as the DDR3 Vengence RAM did but hey DDR4 runs cooler so there isn't really a need for it. I really wish they would bring back the RAM with the LED usage indicators on the top, I used to be in awe of those when I was a kid.
DRRROOOOOLLL
Pros: Upgraded from a 4930k and I cannot complain. This CPU is great and easy to overclock. It handles just about everything I throw at it. My main use is 4k Video editing and 4k Gaming. If your'e looking to be on the bleeding edge of technology and not pay $1000 for a CPU than this CPU will definitely suite your needs, but then again if you can afford to constantly be on the bleeding edge than budget probably isn't a concern for you. I'm not sure where these guys are getting their information about the 3930k vs 5930k because everything I've looked at so far the 5930k has pulled ahead.
Cons: Like others have stated power consumption, but then again DDR4 consumes less power so your'e trading one for the other.
Overall Review: The x99 is brand new technology. If your'e not sure about taking the plunge yet, give it a few weeks for new benchmarks and revisions to be made. There is a lot of potential for this CPU.
Great Processor!
Pros: This Processor is great for multitasking and so on I havent had much problem with it at all.
Cons: Vista drivers cause vista to crash if I try to overclock.... but no biggie not to much of a problem no need to overclock anyways... INTEL e6750 blows this outa the water..... when it comes to gaming at least... not multitasking though
Overall Review: Great Brand.
AWSOME!!!!!!!!
Pros: its awsome no need to overclock since tht cuts the life! tested on every game i have such as fsx doom 4 black and white 2 and so one all run awsome even when the settings are on high.
Cons: None!
