Most Favorable Review

D-400-6

iStarUSA D-400-6 Black Aluminum / Steel 4U Rackmount Compact Stylish Chassis 6 External 5.25" Drive Bays
iStarUSA D-400-6 Black Aluminum / Steel 4U Rackmount Compact Stylish Chassis 6 External 5.25" Drive Bays

Pros: Good build quality and paint job. Nice internal layout, I did not need any cable extentions. Fits a standard ATX power supply and ATX motherboard. Used a Cooler Master Hiper 212+ and it just fit without the support bar. Liking the built in dust filters.

Cons: Not sure how much of a con this is but I'm using 2 of iStarUSA's trayless hot swap cages to give me 8 total 3.5" drive bays and the cages with the fans fit fine but it does not leave much space for cable management behind them. I would recommend a modular or semi modular PSU with this case.

Overall Review: Over all, for what I paid for it, it's a great case. Not a huge amount of room to work with but definitely doable.

Works

iStarUSA BPN-DE340SS-BLACK 3 x 5.25" to 4 x 3.5" SAS / SATA 6.0 Gb/s Trayless Hot-Swap Cage - Black Handle

Pros: Rugged construction with nice anodizing. Latch works well and closes with satisfying click and the lock works to keep it closed. No problem with the fan pulling enough air!

Cons: As others have pointed out the fan is a bit noisy. Easy to swap out though. VARY sug fit in my case (NZXT Source 210). Had to really push to get it in.

Overall Review: Gave me hot swap bays in a case that had none and no sleds to deal with. Good value for the price.

Awsome!

NZXT Source 210 S210-001 Black “Aluminum Brush / Plastic” ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
NZXT Source 210 S210-001 Black “Aluminum Brush / Plastic” ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lots of room, well rounded corners every ware, lots of fan mounting options, TONS of cable management tie downs, etc., etc. .... I can remember when things like a painted interior and edges that didn't try to sever a artery were a luxury feature only found on high end cases well above this price point. Oh how far we have come.

Cons: The only "cons" in my scenario are that with a full ATX motherboard installed there is almost no clearance between the motherboard and the power supply. Nothing is touching, but it's dam close. That wouldn't be a problem if my motherboard's auxiliary PCI-E power connector on the bottom of the board wasn't facing the power supply, 90 degrees pointing straight down. Not an issue in most cases ( pun intended ) but if i were running a lot in the PCI-E slots it could be a bummer. And there is no filtration included. I don't need in every ware but they have hangers in the bottom under the power supply for a screen to set in and i think this is one area that there needs to be a filter. Nothing worth taking an egg off for because they don't lead you to believe there is one. And that's it.

Overall Review: It's a budget case, so if you expected all the bells and whistles like cable management grommets, tool less drive bays and filters throughout you should look some ware else, like NZXT's H440 or there Phantom line. If on the other hand you are looking for something more budget oriented and can "live without" some bells and whistles then this is a case you should take a look at... then see if you can find a dust filter for the power supply.
