No, this particular item is the hard copy of the game (disk).  Bear in mind that this still requires a Steam installation, and you will likely requires several gigabytes of updates (if bandwidth is a concern).

My son wants this game, he's in 6th grade. He likes Minecraft and TF2. I don't want him exposed to sexual or adult themes but I'm not too concerned about cartoon violence, Zombie slaying and so forth. Any thoughts?

I would tell you the game does not have any nudity or adult themes, it is entirely RPG only. It is truly not that gory either, most everything fought is mythical or of the animal form. This is of course only for as long as I have played it and I have a fairly high-level character.
