Good bang for the buck

ASUS RT-N10P Wireless N150 Router IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11d, IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.11i, IEEE 802.11e, IPv4
ASUS RT-N10P Wireless N150 Router IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11d, IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.11i, IEEE 802.11e, IPv4

Pros: Price Tomato compatible Energy Efficient (rated 0.5 amp's @ 12volt [6 watts])

Cons: Fixed Antenna Poor quality, super short Ethernet cable Dirty/Scratched unit out of the box Short Power Supply Poorly thought out wall mounting slots on bottom. No way to stand the unit on it's end (vertical)

Overall Review: Got these on the black friday sale for cheap after rebate. These are Tomato firmware compatible which add's a ton of features to them. The stock firmware however is very decent and will fill 99% of most peoples needs. The antennas on these are fixed, not removable which is kinda disappointing but not unexpected at these prices. What was surprising however was my unit had a few light scratches and what looked like some dust and finger prints on it. Normally I'd say the router was used.. but I don't think so.. I think the factory they make them in must be filthy or something. The power cable is fairly short.. so if you mount it on a wall or on the top of a high desk you may have problems reaching without an extension cord. Speaking of short the included ethernet cable is about 3feet.. suitable for jumping to a modem or switch but that's about it. The jacket on the cable is super cheap feeling and has no markings.. so I cringe to think what quality cable is actually inside it. This is Asus's economy router so you expect some cost cutting but you expect better from Asus. The router does preform fairly well though so those faults can be forgiven, and you can flash Tomato on it and it will do things that are well outside it's price range. Overall it's a great buy, and It's very power efficient taking only about 6 watts of power.

Most Critical Review

Poor QC, lousy tactile feel.

SIIG JK-WR0212-S1 104 Normal Keys 2.4GHz Wireless Standard Multimedia Keyboard & Mouse
SIIG JK-WR0212-S1 104 Normal Keys 2.4GHz Wireless Standard Multimedia Keyboard & Mouse

Pros: spill holes lightweight traditional layout good range usb transceiver is small (thumb drive) and out of the way price (20 after 20 rebate) 2 side buttons no lag when using keyboard and mouse same time good battery life (keyboard, see mouse in con's)

Cons: keyboard key's fill a bit smushy no software mouse wheel button is stiff mouse EXTREMELY sensitive keyboard has 1 screw head stripped f1 key did not work i had to remove the key and found the rubber button under the key was twisted.. i fixed it but seems like QC is poor no encryption? Impossible to bring computer out of standby.. might be a USB limitation i dont know. no ps2 option (yes i still prefer it then waste a usb port) battery life.. mouse eat's rechargeable batteries about once a week..

Overall Review: f1 key did'nt work. i popped the key off and seen the little rubber button was twisted. i took a small screw driver and was able to set it back in place.. works now. lousy QC, poor tactile feel.. i should have stuck with logitech which i had for 10 years my prior set i was replacing. keyboard goes sleep or losses connection after about 20 seconds. so the 1st key you hit usually does nothing.. not a big deal but can be annoying. I bought this set around new years and have used it daily for the last few months to give it a fair shake before reviewing. this set was to replace a logitech set i had for 10 years.. the mouse buttons starting going bad on it. the traditional layout drew me to this KB/Mouse set but im very disappointed with it. It has a few good points but i plan on replacing it soon.

Seems solid for the money

ASRock Challenger CL-650B 650W 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Non-Modular Power Supply, 5 Years Warranty
ASRock Challenger CL-650B 650W 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Non-Modular Power Supply, 5 Years Warranty

Pros: Economical Bronze Rated Power Output Build quality seems good.

Cons: Just enough power connectors

Overall Review: This review for ASRock review rebate program. Was upgrading an old dell with a RX 9060XT but the power supply was way to wimpy for the upgrade. The build quality is good it has what feels like a powder coated black finish, and from what I can see of the insides look hefty. It's working well so far, the only negative thing I can say is it really could use an 3rd line of sata power cables. It has enough for 4 sata drives and 2 of the old molex connectors, if you have more than that you'll have to use splitters. But anyway if you're in my situation and need a PSU for a power upgrade this is your ticket..

Works.. wish I'd bought more

Non-Contact Forehead thermometer digital Infrared thermometer for Adults and Kids
Non-Contact Forehead thermometer digital Infrared thermometer for Adults and Kids

Pros: Pretty accurate within 0.5 degrees F.. and usually right on the money. You can also use it to take non body measurements but only up to about 100 Celsius (about 200f) have to put it in "surface" mode.

Cons: a bit ugly.. and a little larger than it probably needs to be.

Overall Review: Some people complained it doesn't have Fahrenheit mode.. it does.. you gotta read the manual (single sheet of instructions) there are 4 settings on it I think it's setting 3 or 4 that switches it from F and C measurements. I only bought one because my last experience with touchless thermometers was very bad. and didn't want to get stuck with a bunch of junk. The unit I received however is very accurate sometimes the reading is about 1/2 degree (f) off.. but most of the time it's right on the money the first time. If I had known it worked as well as it does I'd have bought several of them. I will buy more when they go back on sale.

ASUS RT-N12 N300 Wi-Fi Router 2T2R MIMO Technology, 4K HD Video Streaming, VoIP, Up to 300 Mbps

Pros: Large removable Ant's Great range & Speed Tomato Firmware Capable

Cons: Power cord is very short, Probably 4 feet. I have mine on the top of my desk an it BARELY reached the power outlet.

Overall Review: I bought this to replace 2 ancient 802.11b AP's I was running. I am only using this as a AP so I can't say how well it does as a router. Wifi signal is good, speed is good, features on the stock firmware are good. I hear it's Tomato capable but I've not a need to try it. I bought mine during BF for a great price, only needed 1, wish I'd bought 2.. Totally satisfied with performance so far.

Good bang for your buck

CORSAIR CX Series CX430 430W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply
CORSAIR CX Series CX430 430W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply

Pros: Price Build Quality 80+ Certified Warranty Sleeved Cables Whisper Quiet. Includes Power Cord (some PSU's in this price range don't)

Cons: Slight Whine when in standby, A rather minor issue that many over dramatize. I had to put my ear within 2 feet to hear it and wasn't really noticeable (Unless you was listening for it) until about 6 inches away. No case badge (V1 of this PSU had one) Manual has been reduced to a foldout sheet (V1 had a rather extensive manual) Fan puts out hardly any air, It is however whisper quiet.

Overall Review: I have the 1st version of this PSU about a year ago and V2 seems to be roughly the same except this one is 80+ Certified and has a 3 year warranty (instead of 2). Both nice improvements. V2 has a cut down packaging, No users manual (just a safety sheet), and no case badge, otherwise it appears the same. The price after rebate on this PSU is great, my V1 of this model is chugging a long just fine and I have no doubt this one will do the same. My biggest complaint would be that the fan while very quiet puts out almost no air, They should have went with a faster RPM fan as my stock CPU fan is louder then the PSU and I see no point begin quieter then that, It would help the system stay cooler if the fan put out a little more air. If I was doing shop builds This would be my goto power supply, it has a nice layout of connections, puts out enough power to cover midrange systems and is very competitively priced.
