Works just fine

LITE-ON Black 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 12X DVD-RAM 8X BD-ROM 8MB Cache SATA 12X Blu-ray Burner with Blu-ray 3D feature IHBS112-29
LITE-ON Black 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 12X DVD-RAM 8X BD-ROM 8MB Cache SATA 12X Blu-ray Burner with Blu-ray 3D feature IHBS112-29

Pros: Cheap, has it's own software with it, it spins up fast

Cons: Err, none

Overall Review: I did not run into any problems burning regular DVD's, so I shouldn't have to worry about the firmware update, works fine playing a few Blu-rays I already own.

Great at the start

SAMSUNG 22X Half-Height DVD Writer 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black IDE Model SH-S222A

Pros: Cheap, burns really fast, easy to configure and connect.

Cons: First one stopped being able to burn DVD's after about 6 months, then gave reading anything above a CD after 3 years, second drive gave up burning DVD's after 2 years.

Overall Review: Great drives if you are looking to save money, although reliability is nothing like their hard drives.

Monitor is great!

ASUS ROG Strix 27" QHD 2K 1440P 180Hz fast IPS with AMD FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) & G-Sync compatible HDR400 1ms DCI-P3 95%, USB-C built-in Ai Gaming Computer Monitor XG27ACG
ASUS ROG Strix 27" QHD 2K 1440P 180Hz fast IPS with AMD FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) & G-Sync compatible HDR400 1ms DCI-P3 95%, USB-C built-in Ai Gaming Computer Monitor XG27ACG

Pros: Pure picture quality and vast range of options of screen settings

Cons: Had to replace provided Display Port cable 24 hours after connecting it (all good now, but something to check if your screen starts flickering before attempting to RMA)

Overall Review: Screen is an amazing step up for me going from a 27" 1080p monitor that could only achieve 144Hz on a specific DVI cable, to a 2K monitor with a vast array of settings and frequency range through either one of three connection methods. Only issue I ran into was the Display Port cable developing an issue a day after unpacking it, started getting a random flicker and screen would act like it was losing output signal and switching on and off unless I power cycled the monitor. Replaced cable with a higher quality and well reviewed Display Port cable rated for 8K use and resolved the issue (been fine since four days ago, computer has been in use for dozens of hours every day since cable replacement). I would highly recommend this monitor with the vast range of options to get the picture quality and effect depending on the use you have planned for the monitor, but just be cautious of the provided Display Port cable if you get random flickering effect on the screen.

Worked straight out of the box!

GIGABYTE B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 AM4 AMD B550 ATX Motherboard with Dual M.2, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.2 Gen 2, 2.4/5 GHz Dual-Band, 2.5 GbE LAN, PCIe 4.0
GIGABYTE B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 AM4 AMD B550 ATX Motherboard with Dual M.2, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.2 Gen 2, 2.4/5 GHz Dual-Band, 2.5 GbE LAN, PCIe 4.0

Pros: -Board revision 1.2 and above are ready for Ryzen 5 5600 and any other CPU from the Matisse to Vermeer AM4 CPU range. -Super easy install of components and configuration of BIOS -I like the minimal on-board RGB (I know you can turn it off if you want to) -Both NVMe slots have heatsinks (some boards only have the one)

Cons: -Only four SATA ports (understandable with NVMe getting cheaper and capacity getting larger). -Package contents has changed vastly in the last five years since I got my last motherboard, no manual beyond a sheet of paper with QR codes to direct you to the information you need, not that big of a deal if you have built a few computers previously and have used Gigabyte a lot (all of my personal builds have been Gigabyte since my first Athlon slot A build in 1999, which my dad still uses for basic home stuff)

Overall Review: I would highly recommend this board, revision 1.2 and up don't need a new BIOS update for CPU support, and as long as you have another computer and a spare USB stick, the process is not difficult plenty of video tutorials on how to do that.

Great 550M motherboard

ASUS TUF GAMING B550M-ZAKU (WI-FI) AM4 AMD B550 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS TUF GAMING B550M-ZAKU (WI-FI) AM4 AMD B550 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: -Compact board but lots of features that you would expect on an ATX level board. -Plenty of fan controller connections -Wi-Fi 6 ready

Cons: -Didn't have a Zaku scale model with the board (I'm kidding, the box art and the board itself look amazing). I really don't have any complaints about this board, it runs fine, and does everything it needs to do.

Overall Review: This is my first Asus motherboard, it has been a solid performer so far. Unlike the standard version of the B550M, the Zaku edition was BIOS version ready out of the box for the 5800X that I used, didn't run into any issues getting the system setup with the OS, runs games without any problems, wife uses it for work mostly, but it runs everything that she throws at it without any problems.

Great value for money stock card with a couple of tricks

EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 KO ULTRA GAMING Video Card, 06G-P4-2068-KR, 6GB GDDR6, Dual Fans, Metal Backplate
EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 KO ULTRA GAMING Video Card, 06G-P4-2068-KR, 6GB GDDR6, Dual Fans, Metal Backplate

Pros: Card at stock already runs pretty fast compared to other 2060's, processor was a failed 2070 or 2080 so it is a better wafer of silicon than the regular T106 GPU. Can render videos and Blender about as quick as the 2070's and 2080's for a lot less cost.

Cons: No core voltage control, cooling system is from the 1660 KO card so it can get a little warm.

Overall Review: With the MSI Afterburner I have placed the boost on a curve, so the card tops out at 2070MHz, and memory reaches 1705MHz. I have benchmarked it several times to burn it in, and played a bunch of games at max settings with no issues, the boost normally doesn't go any higher than 1805MHz for most games.
