Works for me flawlessly

SAMSUNG SM951 M.2 2280 512GB PCI-Express 3.0 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZHPV512HDGL-00000
SAMSUNG SM951 M.2 2280 512GB PCI-Express 3.0 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZHPV512HDGL-00000

Pros: After creating a USB UEFI boot media, I was able to install Win7 easily in about 8 minutes. ASROCK seems to have everything correct if you wish to use this as a boot drive. after updating Bios and making the correct adjustments in the BIOS this is an amazing boot drive. I had none of the issues others have had and have not had any problems at all using this for hours day. Reads and writes are blazing fast, and when I say blazing I mean blazing, as in this little stick of gum gets red hot. Some serious thought by Samsung needs to be put into managing the heat created when this SSD runs wide open. 1.5Gbs writes and 2.2Gbs reads are as advertised and everything on this drive opens in a snap and runs flawlessly. This blows away every other SSD at this price point.

Cons: Heat, heat, heat. I installed a dual fan cooler I had from a build years ago, pointed directly at this little nuclear reactor and I have been able to cool it quite nicely. I have not added a heat sink, but I will after the warranty expires. I feel much better having some form of cooling solution because this will throttle if it hits max temps allowed.

Overall Review: ASROCK X99 Professional 5820K processor ( running at 4.4 ) Corsair H110i GT water cooler 32Gig G.Skill Ripjaws 2400 DDR4 memory Samsung SM951 512GB M.2 SSD Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD EVGA 1000W P2 Supernova PSU Thermaltake V71 Case

East to install, seems heavy and well constructed

Pros: 48G seems the sweet spot of price per GB. RGB is nice but not a huge benefit.

Cons: A little slow, but was still a big upgrade for my system.

Overall Review: I would buy again if needed. Easy to install and 48GB is plenty for 99% of users.

Very heavy duty, well built MB

ASUS ROG STRIX Z890-H GAMING WIFI Z890 LGA 1851 ATX motherboard, Intel Core Ultra Series 2 Ready, Advanced AI PC-ready, 16+2+1+2 stages, DDR5, 5Gb LAN, WiFi 7, 4x M.2, PCIe 5.0, USB Type-C, AI OC
ASUS ROG STRIX Z890-H GAMING WIFI Z890 LGA 1851 ATX motherboard, Intel Core Ultra Series 2 Ready, Advanced AI PC-ready, 16+2+1+2 stages, DDR5, 5Gb LAN, WiFi 7, 4x M.2, PCIe 5.0, USB Type-C, AI OC

Pros: Plenty of M.2's and Ram slots. Included WIFI antennae and M.2 heat sinks are a plus. A lot of options for OC and AI-OC.

Cons: Did not recognize my SATA drive at first. No paper manual in box, just install guide. Be prepared ahead of time and have another way to view the Manual PDF. I upgraded BIOS, but it did not upgrade the ME binary. I will have to get with support about that. Several options in BIOS are very poorly labeled, beware.

Overall Review: A descent MB for the price. A lot of options and very versatile with OC'ing. Seems heavy and well built, should last many years.

Huge upgrade for me

Intel Core Ultra 7 265K - Core Ultra 7 (Series 2) Arrow Lake 20-Core (8P+12E), LGA 1851, 125W Desktop Processor - BX80768265K
Intel Core Ultra 7 265K - Core Ultra 7 (Series 2) Arrow Lake 20-Core (8P+12E), LGA 1851, 125W Desktop Processor - BX80768265K

Pros: 20 threads and integrated GPU for a descent price point. I upgraded from a LGA2011V3 5820K, a 10 year old CPU/MB/Memory. I kept my case, PSU, M.2 SSD's, even an older SATA SSD. All plugged right in and worked. I was then able to upgrade to Win11 as well. All in all very satisfied with this CPU.

Cons: Required a MB/Memory upgrade to go along with this chip.

Overall Review: As others have mentioned, if you rig is 5+ years old, this is a no brainer upgrade. If not, maybe wait for the next gen of CPU's/MB's.

Follow up revie

MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support ATX Graphics Card GTX 980Ti 6GD5
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support ATX Graphics Card GTX 980Ti 6GD5

Pros: This a follow up review. I have attached an EVGA Hybrid water cooler and am able to get amazing overclocks while keeping the temps well below 50c. I am running 1550 on the GPU and 4200 on the memory clock, all this and never see temps over high 40's Celsius. The EVGA Hybrid shroud is very nice looking, but you will lose the LED " GEFORCE GTX " light when switching to the new shroud. The original shroud is metal, and comes off in about 5 parts, the new shroud is one single piece of plastic , which is much lighter, and decreases the overall weight of the card.

Cons: The only con I have is, after installing Win10, the drivers are slow coming and buggy. Hopefully this gets resolved soon. Not something to dock an egg for, but be forewarned.

Works great

Corsair Hydro Series H110i GT High Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler
Corsair Hydro Series H110i GT High Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: Fit 2011-V3 perfectly. Keeps my OC'd 5820k about 70c under load. I like the LED which can easily be managed with Corsair link software.

Cons: Can get quite loud if you ramp up the pump/fans, but this is expected at those rpm's.
