If Iyou have a drive already with data on it, and add an identical blank drive, can you enable mirror RAID and have the data copy to the new drive?

No, it blanks both drives. You need to set up volumes, partitions. I bought two of these units, very unhappy, they cook your drives like an oven. Internal air circulation very very poor. I use the program hard drive sentinel for my temp monitoring. Inactive Seagate Nas drives stayed at 45 to 50°. Active drives got close to 60. Too hot. I drilled a bunch of holes in the front of the case, helped about 5° or so. I believe the fan is just poorly positioned. Not much can be done to help the cases. Other than that, I thought they were really good. Disappointing.

Does this device have Power Sync? When you shut down or sleep your PC will this unit sleep/shutdown? When you turn on your pc will this unit turn on?

the drive seems to power off after a few hours unattended on windows 10, and a reboot of windows 10 doesnt restart it, is there a windows setting to prevent this power down?

will this enclosure work with a raspberry pi (linux)? i'm not looking for a pretty software package to manage the hard disks. i want to make sure my linux operating system will recognize the enclosure and the disks.

Sorry, unit works fine for me, in Win 7 with i7 CPU. I don't know how it will behave with the Linux unit.
