will my wd 250 gb 2.5" sata drive fit this enclosure?

I'm certain that it will.

Many laptop mfgs have an adapter connector to their motherboards for the 2.5" sata that must be removed from the drive. It should just pull off to reveal the drives' sata connector.

The Rosewill enclosure is pretty nice. The case halves slide apart, you then pull it's circuit board out and attach it to your drive with the included screws, snap it all back together and you're good to go.

It's a snug fit and a bit of a wrestle... but once you figure it out it's "Like it was made for it." lol

I found the cable to be a bit odd... It has the mini usb for the drive and 'Two' full sized usb connectors for your system. The thought being that you may need extra power from your device to run the drive.

I use just one end plugged in to either my computer or my wii.
I haven't tried it with any other devices yet.

The instructions are sparse and not very helpful.
But it does come with a hansom soft black leather case.

I like it. Good price. Works good.

Will this enclosure be compatible with Windows 7 OS?

This enclosure is compatible with Windows 7 as well as 8 and 8.1. It connects via USB cable and assuming the drive you have in the enclosure is formatted compatibly with Windows, it will show as drive letter(s) within My Computer, much like a thumb drive shows, if that helps.

will this enclosure work for a hard drive that currently has Windows 7 loaded as the OS?

Yes, it will work with a HD that has with Win7 already installed.  I have not attempted to boot from the Rosewill ExtHD, but as a USB 2.0 device, it should boot to Win7 if you set the USB in the BIOS as the first boot device.

can this be used to store movies on to play on my tv?

Quick Answer: 
Yes... IF your TV can read a hard drive and play movie files.

Long Answer:
It can be used to store any file.  Movies, Music, Pictures, anything.
Depending on your TV, it can act like a giant USB memory stick.

Read your TVs Instructions to see if the TV can read a Hard Drive.
To view movies on your TV you need to find out what file types it will play. You want to look for AVI, MP4, MKV file types in the directions. Store files of that type from your computer onto the drive, Then connect the drive to your TVs USB port and use the TVs video app to play it.

Some TVs have trouble with DOLBY sound. Most will do MP3 and AAC or AC3 6 channel sound

720p movies look good on my 50" 1080p 120Hz non-3D TV.
480p TV is OK too, but fuzzy or pixelated.
1080P is SHARP.

Look for a bit depth over 2400kbps in the specs for the movie file or it could be fuzzy. Constant bit rate so as to not play choppy. Bigger Files are usually better.

1-1/2hr Movie sizes: 
BD 1080p all over 4GB usually over 8GB
HD 720p at least 2GB usually 3.5GB or more
DVD 640p around 700MB usually 1.2GB or more
TV 480p 350-590MB 45min

My non-smart TV will view JPG (pictures) MPG (music) and MOV (movies), which is to say it won't work very good on mine because only a Low Resolution Very Short MOV movie will play on my TV.
Only like cell phone videos.

seeking enclosure for hitachi dk32ea hard drive (2.5"). Interface is described as ATA-5. will this enclosure work? If not what will?

ATA 5 is also known as Ultra DMA 66. I can't find a reference to your drive anywhere, but this has been the pretty much rock bottom ATA format for some years. Probably it would work.

Question 6

Does this enclosure accept a Toshiba Satellite 2.5" laptop hard drver? I have had trouble with adapters that fail to mention that the connection they are prepared to make are for the Hitachi style connector with "peg teeth" type contacts.

Toshiba had many 'Satellite' models.  Your question is too vague.
google the model number from the drive, look for specifications.
This enclosure is for ANY 2.5" SATA drive.

Will NOT work with IDE-ATA/PATA drives 
that have a connector which have 2 rows of (22 pins skip 1, then 2 more pins)

Yes, it will. The enclosure is mostly plastic and a tight fit, so be patient when you try to get the HDD into the enclosure.

Will my Toshiba MK1059GSM 1TB hard drive fit in this enclosure?

The drive is 0.5" (12.7mm) in height.

I have a 500 gig Seagate drive that is 7/16" (0.44) in height and there isn't much room to spare.  It would be a tight fit at 0.5".

Bought a Rosewill RX81U-ES-25B, which is IDE.  Do you guys sell just the adapter that's inside that is for SATA to USB?

To the best of my knowledge, your enclosure must be made for the type of drive you will mount in it (IDE or SATA).  There is no adapter that can change the type of coupling if the enclosure is not compatible with the drive type with which you intend to use. And if there were, there is no space in the enclosure to place such an adapter.
