Yes, I installed this adapter in a USB2 port on a dell notebook with Windows XP SP3 and it worked flawlessly. It has a very good range and connection speed. Use the included mini CD to install drivers. Be sure to use WPA2 login security to get N150 speeds.

How long is the extender USB cable that comes with it?

The cable that comes with it is about three feet long. When I got mine it also came with another extension with a cradle that holds the cap on the USB connector. It's also about three feet.

Is the N-300 high gain version of this product compatible with 64 bit windows ten?

To be clear, this product does not have Windows 10 drivers and according to the official TP-Link sources it's never going to get them. I'm having a ton of problems with this adapter and Windows 10 and wouldn't suggest that you buy it for that operating system.

needs a driver. and it has a small cd in the pack. so u just need use that cd to install driver

Can anyone verify that it works on Win 10?  I have a previous version of this adapter, and it will not work on W10 due to its firmware (as per co. rep)  Only Win7 and earlier.

I have two of these on two different windows 10 computers. One is win 10 Pro and one is win 10 home. Both work well wil my CentryLink Wi-Fi,
All I had to do was enter my Wi-fi code. Hope this helps.

Works fine for me, only problem I experienced was when my computer sleeps,but won't recognize upon resume. My solution is to remove it from the USB port and plug it back in

hi, i'm looking for an adapter for a desktop to connect wirelessly to my network. we ran out of usb ports on the router to connect another line. do you think the would be a good choice? it has to reach about 50 feet

as long as the router is modern and had reasonable broadcast. This device will be more then enough. Little difficult though as how many walls you need it to pass through will be more of an issue then distance. I have this very device in a commercial setup work further then 50 feet with 5 bars, but I have a commercial AP and it only needs to pass one wall. Overall I was impressed with this wireless adapter and would recommend trying it. If you need to go through like a fireplace or metal walls I would suggest an entirely different plan.
