Question 1

In the bold print for the add on Newegg, it states this mount is for TV sizes 20"-50", but in the specifications it limits it to a 47". I need to know if this will support a 50" TV?

Personally, engineering aspect is that I believe it will support 50" as long as your mounting applies in which it should.  Also MAKE SURE your mounting screws are fastened to the wall securely.
Other than that you should be fine it has nice motion side to side and pivot. 
Just in case you need to know how to hide wires...  Buy blue single gang boxes for drywall, cut back off completely, one at mid-point of mount and one 16" from floor (both in-line and in between studs.

Question 2

I just have some installation questions, to mount this on a dry wall, what tools should I have handy? Just a drill and screws and everything else will come with the package? Thanks in advance.

You will need a good stud finder to find the stud under the dry wall. You MUST mount the wall mount to stud under the dry wall with screws that come with kit.  They are long enough to go through dry wall into stud.  DO NOT mount it on just the dry wall. It will come crashing down. The bolts need to come close to hitting the center of the stud, so good stud finder is a must. Before I installed the dry wall where I mounted the wall mount, I installed two studs in center, so I could hang my 42" flat screen with confidence that it would not come down. I believe the bolts that come with kit are metric, so need metric wrenches.  Another thing to watch out for is that when the flat screen is push to the wall there is a 2 inch offset depending on which way the center pivot point swings. This means that if you center the mount on wall, when you push flat screen back to wall, it will be offset by 2" either left or right depending on which way the center pivot point swings.  I had to redo my mount because when I push it to the wall it did not center in opening and Flat screen hit side wall also looked bad. Also meant more holes it wall.  Hope this helps.  Alan

is there a way to "lock" it into position? There seems to be only about a couple of angle that I can put it in without it moving around  because of weight distribution i guess.

I imagine you are talking about the pan adjust. This adjustment is using screws sliding in a slot.  Within those slots the adjustment is infinitely adjustable.  There is a handle on one screw to tighten and fix the position. As I recall, when I was looking to purchase, a customer said this mechanism was slipping for them, but I haven't had any problems.  I also don't mess with it.

The pivot points (hinges) more freely, are infinitely adjustable  and do not lock into a particular position.  They are robust and not 'floppy'  - once in a position the screen stays put (presuming your cables aren't putting too much tension on the mount).

Question 4

I have a Samsung LNS4695DX is this mount compatible?

That TV is basically AT the load capacity of this mount. You wouldn't have a problem actually mounting it, but for it holding it, that is up to you. The mount has a weight capacity of 77 pounds, and your TV's specs put it at 77.2 pounds. Now, that may include the stand and the TV, but that's still really close to the weight capacity. I would proceed at caution, and make sure you pick a really good stud to mount it to if you end up getting it.

Question 5

Do I need to buy a separate adaptor for VESA 400x400 (that's what Samsung says my 40" TV is), or is it included?  The spec sheet lists it as an "accessory option."

I don't believe you'll need any additional adapters. My Samsung TVs (2007 40" LCD and 2010 42" LED) both lined up with the standard hole patterns.  The mount also came with additional adapters to accommodate even more hole patterns.  I think you'll be OK.
