Drive seems okay, but software can be difficult

WD Black NVMe M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) WDS100T2X0C
WD Black NVMe M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) WDS100T2X0C

Pros: Western Digital brand, should have enough storage for my machine

Cons: Having compatibility issues with my new system using NVMe drives, but not WDs fault...

Boot options do not work

MSI Gaming Desktop Aegis 3 Plus Intel Core i7 8th Gen 8700 (3.20 GHz) 16 GB DDR4 2 TB HDD 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

Pros: The case has a great design Purchase price is a bargain Nice selection of parts in the build

Cons: Has no ability to boot to any device other than the provided NVMe drive I am not a fan of the pre-loaded software MSI asks you to pay for shipping on an RMA for defective products

Overall Review: I wanted to upgrade the relatively small NVMe drive and so tried to mirror it using a bootable CD. I could not boot to the DVD drive so tried a USB DVD drive, which also did not work. I tried booting to a USB stick with no luck. I used Acronis mirror software, but it would error out when I rebooted saying 'Not all devices found'. All of this media worked in Windows 10, just not in the boot loader. After trying every option (there is no legacy USB, and the options in BIOS are limited enough to try all combinations) I had to RMA the system and pay an extra $110 for shipping (would have been $80 if I didn't pay for insurance). I bought this system because I didn't want to spend the time making my own (first time I have bought a pre-made desktop in 20 years). I have spent more time on this system than I have on most of my custom builds. The system operation seems okay using all the stock components but I am so far underwhelmed.

What happened to Linksys?

Linksys WMP54GS-RM Wireless-G Adapter with SpeedBooster IEEE 802.11b/g 32-bit PCI Interface Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates
Linksys WMP54GS-RM Wireless-G Adapter with SpeedBooster IEEE 802.11b/g 32-bit PCI Interface Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: It worked okay when it finally worked

Cons: This card seems to only install when it feels like it. I am connecting it to a Linksys WRT54GL router for my sister-in-law, and the first time it finally connected after about 15 tries. I re-installed the operating system for here and am trying to re-install it, but it will only say that it cannot associate with the access point.

Overall Review: What happened to Linksys? This used to be a simple choice, you put in Linksys components, they connect, and you just go to work. I have bought two routers and two network cards from Linksys in the last 6 months and they have all ended up as paper weight!
