Over temp trips

Overall Review: This card is great, can run Cyberpunk 2077 on max settings without even needing to spin up the fans. It didn't start this way though. After initially installing this card in my new system, it would trip off while gaming, requiring a power cycle at the power supply to correct. Loading up GPUz showed that temps would immediately rise to the 90s, with the hotspot over 100C. It would continue to operate in this condition until eventually tripping the system. I opened up the card, replaced all of the thermal pads with the same sizes (verified sizes with a dial caliper as I removed them) and replaced the thermal component under the water block, and it continued to behave the same way, no improvement. I did it a second time, and reduced the size of the thermal pads on the ram from 1.5mm to 1.0mm in an attempt to get better contact between GPU and water block. This did the trick. Now the GPU is downright chilly. Running the 2077 benchmark for the experimental ray tracing setting couldn't stress the card enough to even bother with raising fan speed. Ram temps never broke 65C. I guess there isn't enough pressure from the spring plate to adequately compress 1.5mm pads, could be the wrong pads were put on mine during assembly. I used arctic pads and paste in mine when I did the replacement. If anyone else is having a problem with temps, hopefully this helps.
