Yes it comes with a stock Intel basic heatsink which has thermal paste already applied. You should just need to press it on, pretty easy.

Yes.  They are generic and adequate if you are not overclocking.  If you want to OC then buy something better.

Does not come with thermal compound, which goes between the processor and heatsink.

Asus gene Viii I wanted a smaller case, and 20 lanes. M.2 and ddr 4, I wasn't interested in over clocking, though the board offers a ton of Oc features, I also wanted a passively cooled computer, the 65w of the 6700 was prefect, I run at about 44 c full load, with one fan running. Hope all that helps.

One problem with the mb though it has a wired issue with the bios not finding my ssd , it seems to be a bios programming problem.

Desktop - for future reference, reference the socket number (LGA ####) with your motherboard's specs.  Also, only the newer LGA 1151 motherboards are compatible with  Skylake.  Look for motherboards that say 'LGA 1151' AND 'Z170' and get something decent or you're not using the chip to it's full potential.  Otherwise, go with the i5 or i3 variant.

Should work. Just make sure the motherboard states it supports socket LGA 1151. The socket on the motherboard must match the socket for the processor.

Will this CPU work with DDR3?

Officially, DDR3L and DDR4 is supported by Intel, and not DDR3.  There may be kits/packages out there that'll let you use/fit DDR3, but I wouldn't want to risk an expensive processor on my older memory kits.

The boxed version of the Intel processor includes an OEM fan heatsink.  It is required to install this or some other suitable thermal management.

Its a pretty decent cooler. I would not recommend it for heavy overclocking. Its great for general use and is quite adequate for moderate gaming as well.
